How to fire 120 maddog in 4.33?
-
i know how in 4.32, but i dunno now. can somebody help?
-
Why not help yourself? Search is a truly magical function. This is what I found when I searched for the word ‘Maddog’: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23828-MRM-Boresight-Maddog-mode&highlight=Maddog

well, i m not expecting another dumb guy like me.
is there any way to disable this requirement? i can hardly press too many keys.

Fly 4.32?
Fly Ace Combat?
sighs
Program your HOTAS to press the keys you need so you only need to press a shift key and the pickle to fire it?
Do note that all of these suggestions throw realism out the window, of course.

You don’t have to press 3 keys if you set the missile to BORE beforehand. Then it’s just uncage+weapons_release. If you fly normally it rarely comes up to even want to maddog off a quarter million dollar missile in the vague direction of the target.

yep i know, but usually i shoot maddog in emergency, i.e. close combat, it is very hard to release joystick/hold the mouse/click OSB at the same time.
some times i wish i was a left handed person so i can hold stick with left hand, hold mouse with right hand. -

so, to u, 4.32=ace combat?
-
If I thought it equaled ace combat, I would not have bothered suggesting ace combat. It would be redundant.
Id also not have played it, either.
-
so why u suggested ace combat?
i m talking about 4.32, not ace combat. -
I never understood the concept of going maddog with an AIM-120, it’s such a high risk letting one off the rail without a radar lock.
-
Because ace combat removes the requirement to press as many buttons to launch the missile.

You might have a sick gadget and need to fire still. Its IRL useless inside several miles (reportedly four) so in BFM its not useful, either. Its meant to be slaved to the FCR and it works best that way.

If you envision this happening a lot you can set AA master mode radar ACM and pre-set the AIM-120 as the missile to use. Then dogfight will be AIM9/ACM, MRM will be AIM120/CRM and cancel override will be AIM120/ACM. That’s a quick select of 3 missile-radar combinations.
