Launching AA missiles

At the fighting sweep misión, in AA mode, I can use the gun, and indeed I splashed some bandits, but cannot launch any aim9 missile.- I selected it and uncaged it, so the diamond went free, but it didnt fix on the nearest aircraft in range , neither reacted firing with my Hotas Cougar pickle button,.- Master arm is switched on, and my Cougar pickle button works perfectly well as it shows at the controllers configuration page when pressed (I am using Duncs profile).- Obviously, there is something I am forgetting, as it passed a long time from my last Falcon 4 BMS 432 activity, perhaps somebody can refresh my memory.-
At the training document, there are no AA misións already explained so I couldnt verify what was I doing wrong.-

I am afraid I didnt take care about that, I must read the manual about it.- But is it a condition for launching the missile, or just for its accuracy ?, does it prevents to be fired ?

The diamond wont lock if it is warm……press the OSB button next to WARM or go to dogfight mode and it will cool automatically.

AIM-9 is free to fire very easily. If it says “RDY” on SMS page (both bottom center and next to AIM-9 entry) then weapon release will fire.
