A-10C Loadout
-
Back in 4.32, A-10 was able to carry 8xmav, but now a-10c can only carry 4xmav and rest of the stations can only carry unpowered munitions. Just wonder if that’s authentic? Well I don’t remember which version of a-10 was model back in 4.32. Was it A or C? But anyway, it seems a-10 becomes less potent than before.

I wouldn’t call it less potent, but less HAWX
-
The real thing can defo carry 6 on LAU-88s……this was used in OIF a few times but typical loadout is 2 (sometimes 4) due to drag etc and I think a TO advises against 6.
-
6 MAVs are not carried (except for very rare cases).
the engine of the 3rd missile on the rack, when fired hits the flaps (or other control surface in that area) and in some cases may cause damage. so 4 mavs on LAU-88s are pretty much the normal ops limit. -
Those are just out board pylons. What about inboard pylons? Why can’t carry some on those? Also, the fire from missile motor won’t hit anything from there. It seems A-10 got tons of pylons and capabilities, but mav is only restricted to 2 of the stations is kinda pathetic.

Yes just those two pylons only are used for 3 * AGM-65 each that I know of.
Whether that is down to USAF requirements or for other reasons…… not sure sorry

One example of standard A-10 loadouts.

During Operation Allied Force A-10s carried only 2 MAVs (AGM-65D).

Because in era of A-10C AGM-65G can be carried only on LAU-117, LAU-88 is not an option. AGM-65A/B/D can be carried up to 3/LAU-88 but was typucal only two and as I know LAU-88 are phasd out from USAF inventory in 2000.

Knew Id seen this somewhere:

_I’m saying we’ve flown with 3 mavs in combat as recently as Iraqi Freedom, we’ve fired all three mavs and not experienced any damage.
The TO only states
“Launching maverick missiles from the inboard rail should be avoided to minimize paint and rain erosion coating deterioration.”
Crew chiefs simply have to do an inspection on the inboard area as normal and if defects appear fix them._ -

Good question……looks like the head of an E type bolted onto the body of an A or B type
