Falcon LAN in Germany
-
Update for 2014:
November, 4th (tuesday) until 9th (sunday) 2014
Hi gents.
Although this LAN is likely only interesting for guys from Germany or neighboring countries, I would like to take the opportunity to announce
our yearly Falcon LAN in early November.Since 2006 the German Falcon community meet up at an ancient castle in the middle of the heart of Germany.
Until 2011 we flew mainly Falcon AF, but gave BMS also a try last year. In multiplayer it was a blast and it became soon clear, that we will
follow the BMS track for the forthcoming events. The LAN takes place in the castle of Buchenau (www.schloss-buchenau.de) in the vicinity of the city of Fulda. (Or in other words: 100km north-
east of Frankfurt a.M.). The castle Buchenau provides board and lodging at fair prices (On or about 50,-€ per day including everything) for
groups greater than 15. Exact pricing depends on # of participants and room category (usually 2 to 4-bed rooms). For event organisation
purposes we collect 15,-€ per participant. I don’t need to tell you that we don’t want to make any profit. The financial excess will be used for
forthcoming events. The event starts at November, the 4th (Tuesday) and ends on November, the 9th (Sunday). Of course you don’t need to participate during the
whole time period, but can decide individually about your day of arrival and departure. So, what are we doing there?
[ironic mode on]
As it is right and proper for a real fighter pilot, we have some strict rules!
The buzzer is ringing early at 06:00 AM. Without breakfast the pilots have to plan, brief and accomplish their first days mission.
If they fail, lunch is canceled.During the event it is prohibited to drink alcoholic drinks, to show any disturbing enjoyment or to misbehave in any way. The LAN is a strict
no-women-allowed-area.
This is war, not pleasure, gentlemen.
[ironic mode off]<sigh>But the experience of the previous events shows, that the participants are seemingly not willing to adopt these rules. :-d
But seriously, Of course we don’t have such rules or whatever. There will be enough time for anything besides flying. We try to get in the air
as much as possible while keeping an eye on groups wishes.Flights are planned by the flight leads on a laminated, nearly one square meter sized map (those made by Red Dog). The flight plan will be
implemented into the ATO on the fly. After the mission we will debrief and set a time for the next mission.Traditionally on Saturday night we have a little barbecue (depends on weather, but in the past we had luck) and a short closing ceremony (or
event debriefing, if you like), where we will hand out the participation certificates, a patch and honor some guys for their personal
performance (which doesn’t necessarilly mean “flight performance” or mission results). We also try to learn to make forthcoming events even
better. If you need more information about the LAN, refer to our website: www.buchenau-lan.de
Until now it is in German language only. A translation has begun, but has not been finished yet due to time issues. But even without
understanding a word you might want to take a look at this webside, which provides some really nice impressions of previous events. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I can provide more info on request.
Hope, I aroused your interest.
Thanks for paying attention.

Because of my bad english I didnt get it if the 50 euro a day is inclusive food.

The LAN is a strict
no-women-allowed-area.Huh? LOL why not?
Make you guys some sandwiches or something, maybe pass the vacuum in your pits prior to take-off.

Because there would be too many women, there wouldn’t be room for the computers etc.
You don’t believe me?? Announce on your Facebook status that you will have a bms LAN at your place next Friday, it will be crowded with women I tell you, crowded!! -

Announce on your Facebook status that you will have a bms LAN at your place next Friday, it will be crowded with women I tell you, crowded!!I usually have to hide my HOTAS when I have a “lady friend” over… If not there’s always a gauntlet of questions that follows. “You fly planes on the internets ??”
Track-IR cap usually tips the boat, so I don’t even bother to go there.

Did he ever get that theater changing issue resolved??
Last I heard in an email from him was he was gonna re-install. Haven’t heard from him since.
