      Heya,

I searched the internet and the forum.
I think BMS 4.32 never had the possibility to cycle bomb hardpoints from what I read in all the threads (and from what my memory remembers).

But the BMS Training of 4.33 mentions on page 99:
      @BMS-Training:

… The station selected for dropping can be changed with the MSL STEP button on your sidestick. …

Knowing this the pilot can voluntarily induce a desired turn after bomb release (even without using trim) rather than fighting the asymmetrical condition by simply selecting the correct station that will release the weapon:
 Want a right turn after bomb release; select the left wing station to release.
 Want a left turn after bomb release; select the right wing station to release.

Up to now I never had problems because I always ripple drop bombs with even numbers or lived with it.
But because the text above is written in the manual, I thought, perhaps there is now some way to do it.

I did the Laser TE, I tried combinations with NWS AR MSL STEP, i checked the SMS and its inventory page, I searched multiple pdf docs for it.
Sure I found things regarding HARM and AGM (SMS contains STEP on OSB 18), and regarding A-A missiles.
But I did not find anything regarding bombs.
Was this text in the manual only an addition to what pilots can do in real life?

        SimNextAGWeapon -1 0 0xE 4 0 0 1 “SHORT: Next AG Weapon”

It’s an older shortcut and not a real F-16 function but it should function in 4.33. Realistically you press the OSBs on the SMS format (look for the OSBs close to the station numbers, should be OSB#9 & #16). The missile step button does nothing about station selecting in the AG context. Stepping within weapons on a multi-weapon rack on a specific station is done with the STEP OSB when present.

EDIT: “When present” being rather important as it never seems to apply to bombs.

Is this button working for anyone? I mapped it to a button in 4.33 but it never did anything. I realize it’s not a real F16 button, and so maybe it was deprecated and removed.

It’s straight out of the 4.33 Full key file. If it’s deprecated it wouldn’t be in there. What two AG weapons are you switching between?

The above in the manual is a mistake on my part. I confused missiles and bombs. It will be corrected in the next revision, I apologise

Would that mean it isn’t possible even in the sms with OSBs, I guess?

wrong. there is no way to cycle bomb hardpoint in 4.33, same as 4.32.

In 4.32 you can cycle AA and AG hardpoints, I have it mapped to two buttons on my stick.

I will have to adjust this in 4.33.

no, u can ONLY cycle AG missile, e.g. AGM65.
                        u can NOT cycle bombs.

Really? Just did. Lost sound once I got in the pit, but you can see me click through using the AG cycle button on my throttle.

Yes, there is/was a command to cycle AG weapons (i.e. type …. it was/is Backspace by default), but you can’t do that with hardpoints with AG bombs, only missiles.

For example, load up with all MK82’s (or CBUs, or LGBs …. all the same weapon). Now cycle from hardpoint #3 to #8.

I see, it cycles the weapon type and not the specific hardpoint.

I’m glad to see that i was not the only one confused with this. At least that explains the source of the problem 🙂

Dumb bombs aren’t to be cycled, only missiles can and JDAMs also can, I’m not totally remember regarding LGBs, maybe someone can try and update.

In 4.32 you could drop bombs from the same hard point by going AA mode between. By going AA and back you reset to the default hard point, left or right I don’t remember, haven’t tested in 4.33 if it still work.

no, it seems like a bug to me. if i drop 1st bomb on the left, then switch to AA mode to defend, then back to AG, i have to release 2nd bomb on the left, now how to balance plane?
                                      4.33 is better.

Does 4.33 no longer do the same side drop if you switch MM?
