STPT 9 (refuel) already existed NNW of Haeju. I clicked on the square that was between Haeju and STPT 2, dragged it over next to STPT 9, and it thus became STPT 2 (original STPT 2 became STPT 3). Set new STPT 2 to “refuel” with 20 minute patrol time.
Push point and TOT were locked and didn’t change. T/O time moved earlier by about 20 minutes.

STPT 3 was originally STPT 2, the push point. The new STPT 2 is the one I created as a refueling point with a 20 minute patrol time.
The black flightplan is the ATO-generated tanker track. The STPT marked “TANKER” is an ATO-generated refuel STPT to hit while RTB–which is pointless considering it’s right next to home plate.
Is it possible that having two refuel STPTs messed it up? That’s the only thing that I can think of, because the tanker was on station.

im having trouble getting package times down for tanking/ if im strike and set patrol times and tank times in order of package as in sead tanks and rolls off to next sp then escort same then my strike element… but by the time my strike rolls out the other elements seem to be further than planned and i cant burn fast enough to catch back up to steer time… my refuel skill has gotten a lot better, only need the one connect unless enters turn but i usually set a longer leg for fuel. i would lie package to keep spacing the same before and after tanking so that we all arrive on target with about a 1.5-2 min seperation so that entire package is in and oud in about 4 min or so…not my sead then 3 min later my escort and my number 4 is just coming off boom… sometimes i loose package elements on datalink by the time my flight is done and i know i didnt plan thi timing like that because i checked an double checked the fuel times and tot’s… only other thing i can try is to set EVERY single steer or set the other two elements maybe to patrol at the next steer after tanking for about ten minutes( like a CAP or something) and meet them there ad wait until they roll to target andfollow in my own time?
can somebody maybe make a vid showing how to set entire package to roll smoothly spaced.
p.s.
i know that the ai doesnt take quite as long to fuel as human bu i wouldnt think that would matter -
If you tasked the entire package yourself, set the push point to be after tanking if you want the whole package to refuel then meet up.
If you didn’t task the whole package and want to refuel your aircraft before meeting up with the package, then just add a refuel steer point before the push point for your flight.

i set the entire package myself and set them all to refuel…does the ai circle a push point until timing is right or just fly right through?

i saw that vid earlier in this thread and watched it but are you saying three tankers one for sead, one for escort ,and one for strike?

If you have them available … why not.
Otherwise, plan more time on holding point to allow all the flight/tanker to perform contacts then rejoin the hold (which will reduce the optimization of AAR).

Why not do an ingress AAR. If it’s a strike mission, forget about the race pattern. A loaded F-16 uses a lot of the fuel going around in circles if your the lead and first to refuel. Try placing the AAR STPT 50nm apart and refuel the flight on the way to the target (tanker does not turn ). Set speed to 300knt. Add few F-15s for escort if needed.

I like to add a few steps.
There is way to display Cowboy1 in black on the UI map.
Then Camel1 refuel STPT3 can be place on top of Cowboy1 STPT2 and Camel1 refuel STPT 4 is placed on top on Cowboy1 STPT3. This will keep the correct TOT.Then I add a flight of CAP F-15s the same way. I set the F-15s altitude 100ft above the refuel altitude. It cool to get the tanker, f-16s, and f-15s in formation. When you egress the F-15s will be a nice green zone and will check your six.
50nm between refuel STPT is ok for Korea to refuel four F-16 (AI) without the tanker turning. I only take ~1500lbs. The 3 AI take a little more. Those AIs are fuel hogs.

This is who I do it.
I think “why not” is maybe with this method they don’t refuel If they refuel then the answer to me is “yes.” Thank you for teaching me this technique I didn’t know

If I found the time, this WE I will create a TE showing a two flight AAR on the same Tanker, and another one showing a rendez-vous golf for en-route AAR …
But for now, I have to leave for a real AAR with Ralafes …

Is this suitable for AI flights?
Single player yes….with a human lead.
All AI flight in the 2D or 3D world… <shrug>MP…It has taken more than 50nm to refuel 4 humans depending on vpilot’s skill. I’ve used 90nm for MP.</shrug>
