      Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a keybinding dedicated way to link a cockpit button or slider or knob with a specific HOTAS button, slider or knob ?

      Think of it this way, I press a cockpit button, and then I press say shit+b (just a random combination, I know it does something else) on my keyboard and then when I press a button on my HOTAS, that button is then going to be mapped directly to that cockpit button I first clicked on. Same with sliders and knobs.

      In that way, the setup key binding list can be dramatically decreased in size, so that it doesn’t cause a headache to anyone trying to link a HOTAS button with a cockpit button.
      Yes, I know it can be done in lots of other ways, through key editors and other programs too, but, that that I’m suggesting, can happen in real-time while you fly, and it’s a nice and dynamic solution that will save a lot of headaches…

      I don’t know if it is even possible to be implemented in the game, but it’s still a nice approach, especially to newcomers.

        Uhmm …. using the BMS Keyfile Editor in the Docs/Key Files & Input-Folder i never got any near headaches. Or have i misunderstood something? :???: scrathinghead

          I feel that would cause me a lot more of a headache than it does now.

          My HOTAS has a definated number of buttons, switches and rotaries. Each of them has a specific name. And I can virtually find all of them in the key binding list and the axis setup, and just assign them directly 1:1 (most of them already assigned by default anyway).

          Just the tiny bit whenever something should do more than that, it’s where additional callbacks are assigned.
          And then referring the callbacks by their name from a list seems to be easier to me than having to find and click them in a virtual cockpit.

          But then again, thats just me 🙂

            yes I said that, you can already do that in the BMS Keyfile Editor, but it’s going to be different if it can happen in real time, because you will free yourself from bothering with back and forward searching the pdf and programming the Editor, that might be time consuming, but also, in any given mission, a given cockpit element might become of interest to a pilot that is in a sticky situation and that functionality might give him the upper hand.
            This is meant to be an implemented feature, it won’t need to change any callbacks or anything else, it won’t change how the things are already been done, but whoever feels the need, he can also have this innovation to save time and effort to map things in realtime!

            But anyway it’s just a thought 😛
