3D Cities for Falcon…
-
Also for those that fear FPS impact the solution is already ready…
What I already tested and looks wonderful is this:
The town is divided to 10 segments those segments will have building only on the border… the middle will be a risen texture of buildings roofs… That way when approaching u will see the 3d shadows and buildings to an angle of about 30 - 40 degrees now when vertical what u see is just the roofs u can’t understand the elevation difference… So the workaround is there and maybe it will use less buildings than now cities like Israel or even the same amount but the city will look full of buildings… and in theory will be lighter FPS wise…
So don’t worry… we will get it there…

Hi Arty,
This is why Greeks do it best they are concrete layers……:uham:
They build in seconds not years! Hahahahahahaha
Thank You very much for this.

What about some screen shots?
Nice work mate, keep it up.
Long live to the falconeer spirit! -
It´s about 3 years since I don´t touch 3ds and I can´t make a difference between a bull and light bulb in falcon bms either way i am willing to learn and give a help.
Here´s my last project left along 3 years ago:
And what im am trying to do.
I picked this small portion of south korea Gimpo airport zone and am im going to test in a small part of town. Not going for big stuff for now…
Arty still trying some different approaches for the build seeding tomorrow will send you a pm asking for some advice.

BMARTINS welcome to da club… please pass from registration office first… Nice one m8… this is pro compared to me…
Now before we all jump building we must find the way to scale and fit in current Falcon structures… So for Kimpo u must first have it from Falcon so that the Falcon roads will be respected than off u go lines close them and go on…
Oh and just an update… auto ruins creation will be in the next version of this tool…
-
Rereading… thanx…
That means that a block will be 1km wide…
Sorry guys I must start it in real terms and I say things just to tell me if I’m right or wrong… One thing I need help is factors I must consider first prior to start the model…I read somewhere to select feet or kilometers or others… (I will go kilometers probably is that ok something else to have in mind for that?)
Also there where some scaling referenced elsewhere…
I will have to scale them by x.xx before I export them so to look well? Now about the procedure to build and split the town is…
1. Falcon paths… Please someone can u help me how can I see them and maybe use them as visual reference for model creation…
2. building the towns I will go that way: reference is the city I have posted already to give an idea…The Red(-ish) area will be low buildings (offices and Houses) and industrial buildings (warehouses etc.)
The Green area will be medium height buildings and houses
The blue area will be the tallest buildings. Also on top of them some area slicing will be needed to have the elevation.
This will be the general plan meaning the division will be on areas and zones that way I believe we will have a realistic and balanced structured city.
Now having the blocks released as the tiles sets are, is in my thoughts but this would be for cities of low interest… So as of Interest wise and hierarchy structure what I think is the best is:
*Per Country (Not per theater)
a. Cities
b. Villages
c. Other sites1. 10 larger towns of the country as real as they can. I mean the road structure and elevations…
2. Major Airbases surroundings and nearby cities or villages in high detail.
3. Rest of the cities with ready blocks (not custom for the city)
4. Villages all by ready blocks. Not all the same but in variation…So there must be done and some ready variation blocks per country… Central Europe cities have other look than Greece… Korea other than Israel Also Egypt other than Israel… so I believe I summed it up. Those are the first thought I have on the F.B.B. Project…
Now if someone else or even u have any more thoughts I’m here listening, open in all frequencies… No help though as I expected… Only few and I thank them very much…
Yea I named it F.B.B. Falcon Building Blocks by Betag’s Team

Hi Arty,
Awesome thank you so much for further developing this effort to make theaters more to current standards you have my respect as a creator/developer etc and gratitude…
Hey work with demer928 try this method on the Guam Theater to get a better understanding.
Also I believe you mention earlier about destructible ground structure auto ruin tool is for ground structures like large Oil Refinery Plants mention earlier in thread to add new ground structures to database, right! … look this really is starting to sound like a dream come true.
If we the community could see this in “GUAM” a “Revolution Has Begun”, one word “SPECTACULAR”!
I understand it might mean some rework but seriously its worth it and its not wasted time, its part of Falcon 4.0 redevelopment process, right …… please stay positive.
Get the formula right first then its a production line of … ( Theaters )
Falcon 4.0 community get ready…So Keep the Faith!
Thanks again Arty truly thanks!
PS:- Please … Support the effort, “THANK”…the first post!
PM or post a reply in thread to Arty or BMARTINS if you have something to contribute!
Long Live F4!
Cheers,
:drink:

Yeap GUAM maybe be the guinea pig  cause it’s small but not easy… Too many elevations I see???.. I wanted to create the Barrigada Heights, so when u take off to see the village.
I made the road sketch in Google Earth already… I wanted to get it to Skecthup and create the elevations also (I watched a tutorial is a piece of cake…)… But when I went to 3dsMax (this was my first first try) I got smacked and pounted like Hell…
So I went back to 1+1=2 and chosen Volos city in my country which is flat. Now that I see it again, Guam, it’s not that elevated at the cities and they can be very easily get created all of them villages and the rest… Hmmm… You tempt me…

It´s about 3 years since I don´t touch 3ds …
While looking at your last project, I’m sure you’ll get warmed up with 3dsmax in no time.

CorrectIf I’ve said:
While looking at your last project, I’m sure you’ll get warmed up with Mower in no time.… it would probably motivate Mower, but probably demotivate BMARTINS.
So I’ve tried to avoid drooling this time.

I found out how to get the area to sketchup the town with respect to Falcon Paths, and at the same time have scale as reference for Falcon…
oK Here is how we get the area:
1. Get Monsters Terrain Editor. Open the theater u want to edit.
At the main window tick
1. ShowGrid
2. Show Heights (pay attention here to select feet or meters. It’s your choice but remember what u chose so to use the same in 3dsMAX)
3. Tick show segments
4. Tick Show Areas/PathsNow from Menu open Windows and select
5.Theater Preview Window
6.Theater Window. From Theater Preview Window u can quickly navigate at the area u want. You will see a small green rectangle. Double click so that in the Theater Window will show u the Area. There is also other ways to find the area u want by name of town but is more complicated…
Now go to the Theater Window and with the Scroll Bars center the area.
For better detail and bigger area play with
7. Grid size and
8. Tile Size.Remember that each tile is 1Kilometer x 1Kilometer.
Now open the menu Tools and select the Save Map Screenshot… will open a new window asking u to give your file a name…
U are ready to Import the file to 3DS MAX and start your Magic…
Reference Photo:
My easiest guide so far…
Please if I have something wrong correct me…
May I ask here in the theater window what are the Red and blue circles? Transparency areas where sea overlaps with ground?
