I just got a Warthog for Christmas and have no idea what I am doing. I’ve been reading about Target and scripts and have some things figured out but need some help as well. I’m using Morphine’s profile, placed the Warthog DX key file in the BMS-User-config location and the tmc file in the thrustmaster scripts file. I load up the script editor, everything appears to work fine, launch the game, select thrustmaster combined. Everything appears to work except the throttle works as rudder and red hat works as throttle. I don’t have rudder pedals as they are not working at the moment. As soon as I select the advanced tab it appears the script stops working as I lose functionality of most of the switches on the throttle (everything except the 32 functions BMS allows in fact). Anyone have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong? I actually was able to make everything work for 1 quick flight yesterday but ever since I have had no luck. Thanks Everybody

What do you have selected as your controller under the Setup Tab?

Also, in the device analyzer in the target script editor–- when I move the throttle back and forth the “Z” and “Rz” green lines move but not the throttle lines. Again, when I move the red hat forward and back the throttle line moves. Don’t know if this is contributing to the problem. Have gone into devices in windows to try to calibrate thrustmaster combined while the script is running but when the z axis and throttle axis come up to be calibrated the blue line just jumps all over the place.

Do you have an option for just Joystick? Just to make sure, I am referring to “Controller” under the “Setup” tab.

No option for just joystick. Only “keyboard” and “thrustmaster combined.”

Hmmm. I helped a friend yesterday with a Warthog and they had an option for Joystick. His problem as to why his HOTAS binding did not stick was because he had “Throttle” selected. I told him to change it to “Joystick” and leave it there for programming the entire HOTAS, he had no problems after that.

Whatever controller is your side stick controller axes for pitch and bank are what you should choose at your primary controller and never change it. If Thrustmaster Combined is that controller then set that. If you have separated the joystick and throttle components select the joystick controller instead.

The actual axis assignments are done in the advanced section. You can choose any unused axis for any entry with the exception of pitch and bank which are restricted to the controller you set in the first paragraph. Before you set the axes here it’s perfectly normal for the summary area to not respond normally. Don’t panic. When the advanced axes section has been set properly then the summary area should function as expected.

The last steps are to set the afterburner level on the throttle range with its button and possibly the off level if you use that feature. The center button recenters the pitch/bank and rudder to calibrate.

Thrustmaster Combined is the only controller to select other than keyboard while I am running Morphine’s script in Target. Maybe I am not setting up things properly in the advanced tab because as soon as I click it, as you said, the summary area doesn’t respond. Like I am not even pushing a button or moving a switch. The only things I select under the advanced settings tab are:
                        Flight control
                        Throttle axis- z rotation
Pitch and Roll are set already as Thrustmaster combined
everything else on this page is set to keyboard

                        Avionics control
                        Cursor x- x rotation
                        cursor y- y rotation
                        everything else set to keyboard

I set up these items, and the switches on the throttle don’t respond on the setup page

I got it working! It’s the strangest thing, once I set up all my axes in the advanced tab all of the functions will only work when I again press the “controllers” tab. Some kind of glitch maybe? I literally changed nothing about the way I set up everything. Thanks to everyone for all your help.

Hi I dont see thrustmaster combined under controllers, I am not using any target profiles I am just mapping my keys directly to my switches…should I load a profile with target so I can see thrustmaster combined?..
                            Thanks
                            Peter

Peter22, you won’t see the combined device unless you load TARGET.

in the zip for my profile there is a step by step guide to learn how to run things for the 1st time. Then you can try Morphine or Muds profile, the principles are the same. cheers!
