Before Take Off Check: External Tanks

I’ve searched the forums, but had no luck finding an answer to this question:

In the checklist’s Before Take Off category, Step 12 External Tanks - Check feeding then NORM

How is this done?

Fuel test switch, right of HSI. place switch to ext tank

Unless you check Ext Tank several times over extended period of time, won’t it take too long to check if the external tanks are actually feeding? What we do is check RSVR and INT WING. If those are still at their proper values (MLU BE: 460-480 for RSVR; 525-550 for INT WING; may be different for other blocks), you know the fuel is being fed from the tanks.

BTW the TEST position is momentary action, would be nice to be fixxxed at some point.
