Hello to all…I know this is a question a part of which already discussed in various post, but Iam going crazy already by two days searching a valid reply on the forum about my doubt , and I think this could be an opportunity to clarify this for new falconeers…here you are:

I’m trying to organize mine course of study to learn falcon properly and seriously…no game but simulation…(coming from years and years of flight simulation) so now I have from the various posts in this forum a clear idea of the course but my insurmountable doubts are:

      1. better starting with falcon 4 original manual or falcon AF manual ?
2)in any case, is there a way to use the falcon 4’s or falcon AF’s training missions ,as in the manual, in falcon BMS? (I did not find any post about it in the forum, is there also a place where I can find this old files without reinstalling falcon4 or falcon AF ?)

      thank you for your help
      Mario

        Ciao Mario,
i’m a newbie in Falcon BMS too, but for what is worth I suggest you to start from the Training Manual provided with the BMS 4.33 docs, and relative missions.
I’m helping myself with the useful tutorials available on Youtube, often made by users of this great community!
        Cheers from Italy, bye

Ah …… to any new guy reading this thread …if you are a bginner on BMS …just go to the docs that are comming with 4.33 …there is no need to mix with previous versions of falcon 4 documentation anymore.

            thank you for your replay…

            to cortomalteseit :
I know all this sources which I’m using every day, but I need a more detailed description of some systems , also in the bms’s manuals are missing all the AA missile part, the manouvers, a detailed radar description and functionality etc.etc. so if you want a complete study of this fantastic simulator the bms’s documentation is not enough, at least for me.

            To spooky:
if you are referring to docs in the Operational Manuals folder you are right but I think this advanced manuals are too dispersive for a noob but useful for a future study

To amplify the above replies, due to the major avionics and weapons improvements over the years training with the older Falcon versions will impart as much misinformation as valuable experience relative to BMS 4.33. The 4.33 training suite is quite comprehensive and all one needs for initial familiarization.

For weapons employment tactics, check out the real USAF F-16 manuals in the docs/Operational Manuals folder. I applaud your approach to learning this complex sim.

Agree with everyone above stick with the 4.33 training. When you first start reading it, you will feel like you are being fed with a fire hose but with time and practice in the sim things will start to become second nature.

Welcome to the obsession that is Falcon BMS.

thank you all for helping …… in reality I’m an user of falcon since it release with microprose (I have two original copy of it , for win and for MAC)…a long long time ago with AMVI…I suspended for falling in love with flight simulation, returning today cause after +3000 hr wit FS and years and years of study I’m bored and due to the magnificent work of the BMS team today falcon responds to my hyper demanding need of “as real as it gets simulation” and study, after a period with DCS and the very nice A-10C I realized that I wanted something more realistic in terms of systems and DYNAMICS !!! (mind deformation resulting from FS)…so here I’M…thank you and exuse my digression I just wanted to share my experience

I would start with the BMS Training PDF and TE’s. Print out each section so you can have a hard copy to read during the TE. From there I would refer to the -1 and -34 and review each system that the training covers. i.e. if you are doing the ILS approach. Read the training section for it, review systems in -1, and fly the TE a few times.

I usually do a few dry runs through each TE, pausing or freezing the SIM during to read, review the info before I try to do the TE straight through. This has really helped learn the new items.
