Calibration.ini

Does this file still exist=? I’ve found out a: calibration.ccf instead(maybe because Iìm using a FCC3 with my Cougar) but still having problem when starting my computer.
Anyone have an idea? I’m running on W7 64
Thanks

um. What kind of problems?
-
A lot… Lately sometime at start up it say that data does not match with… ( i don’t rememeber at moment and I’m not at home) and I can’t use manual calibration. Do you have a calibration.ini file in your HOTAS root?
I can flash my Cougar then manual calibrate and use it, but it’s not shure that next start up it run well… -
No, I have a calibration.ccf which was a manual calibration. Mine every so often switches over to automatic calibration - so every time I fly, its part of my checklist, to make sure the cougar is setup correctly on manual calibration.

Many thanks Blu3Wolf. I use manual as well. Now I know that .ini missing file it’s not a problem. Well I have to make little spring cleaning
and re-install. Many thanks.

 also winter and summer is mandatory, Autumn is optional.
Sorry couldn’t resist, it was a nice opportunity.
By the way, I transferred my calibration files (from old to new system) but they don’t show up in ccp to select it… Any ideas?
-
iirc, there are some registry entries required. Add a new calibration and rename your old files to the one of the newly calibrated ones and overwrite these, or check the registry for the entries created and add/adjust those.

Forgive me for this tangent….
I use FCC3 in manual calibration mode as well. Funny thing is, I have to load the axis profile every time. The save profile doesn’t make it load automatically. Ideas?
-
Gancio & AV8R in CCP are you click this?
-
Yes same thing except I don’t use button emulation and Foxy, I use a customized BMS.key file.
What doesn’t work is the auto loading of the axes profile. I have to load it every time.
-
Me too. Although its not every time, just 4 times out of 5.
-
hmmm strange for me most of the times like 4 out of 5 it works ok specially in my flight hdd setup… and with the new upgrade I did it seems better… though basic and clean setup till now…

This is as good as place as any to post these insights about the calibration ini file….
There are two forms of calibration for the Cougar: Auto and manual calibration:
• Auto calibration mode relies on you moving your axes to maximum and minimum positions each time you power up your Cougar. You can use the CCP or programming statements to change axis settings, and this is independent of your auto calibration data.
• Manual calibration relies on you running through the manual calibration routine, which you should do only directly from the CCP, not any of Foxy’s apps. The data this generates is saved in a calibration.ini file, and you should also directly after running through the routine, save any profiles you want to use in your joystick files.
• Pressing the Apply button in the CCP when sending axis information to the Cougar also sends the manual calibration data from the calibration.ini file to the stick.
• Manual calibration data successfully saved in a profile can be sent to the stick from Foxy, via a USE PROFILE statement, or via the CCP’s Startup options.• Bug: Anytime you open up a profile with good calibration data in it and re-save it, whether edited or not, destroys the calibration data in it.
• Bug: Pressing the Apply button in the CCP with manual calibration mode, when there isn’t a calibration.ini file in the HOTAS folder, results in a stick that won’t go full range. -
What I realized is that big role played by voltage instability may have USB.
Try to connect your cougar on a USB hub with external power.
With this solution i dont have problems. -
I had for a long time the conviction that my saitek stick was broken. It worked just fine in other computers, though.
Works fine when plugged in through a powered hub, I discovered over a year after buying it.
