      Hello!

Sometimes, when I am in NAV-mode the shown distance in the HUD isn’t correct and do not change when changing steeringpoint.
Last was shown something with over 60 miles to a steeringpoint, but it only could be something with 15 miles.
In A/G-mode the distance is as expected.

      What can be the reason?
Have I to set something, that the correct distance appear again in the HUD?

      Thanks in advance and
      with greetings

I was about to say the same thing, known “bug” probably. I’ve noticed it usually only happens to me on longer missions when I spend a lot of time in A-G mode. Then the range to STPT will get whacky.

                @Moort:

                known bug, no fix.

Hey Moort is that a “no fix for 4.32” or simply “no fix”? if the latter I’d like to know, please 🙂

it’s the latter. 4.32 or not - still present.

Been reported at least twice, once by me and once by Moort… This one goes back to OF days btw.

                        I have a similar issue in 4.33.3.
                        Please see attached pics:
                        1)
In Briefing.PNG it shows a flightplan, which was created by the AI.
It has a problem with the speed from steerpoint 4 to steerpoint 5:
75 knots IAS is probably too low.
It also shows, that steerpoint 4 is pretty close to steerpoint 3 (only 9.9 NM).

In Steeringpoints.PNG it shows the flight on the map.
The leg from STPT 4 to STPT 5 is red, that’s probably due to the low speed of 75 knots.
We also see on the displayed ruler, that STPT 4 is only 23.5 NM from STPT 1 (TakeOff).

In WrongSteeringpoint_Nr4.PNG it shows in the HSD, that STPT 4 is pretty far away to the bottom left near BullsEye
and in the HUD it gives me the distance of 88.5 NM from the current position on the runway (STPT 1).

I do not know about the BMS coding, but me thinks, it might be possible,
that the “unrealistic” flightplan with 75 knots and the red leg from STPT 4 to STPT 5 in the 2D world,
might cause some trouble, when being transformed into the “real” 3D world.

But it also might be, that I’m totally wrong about this

We actually do not care about the speed here. It is just a matter of time over steerpoint divided by the distance. That is all. A/C won’t fly at 75Kts, but will manage the trajectory or will perform holding patterns.
Look at your WPT3 … it is … and Holding pattern. Magical! 😉 😄 … Joke apart, this is “normal” and depends also on Package’s main flight and certainly not linked with the described issue.
