Balkans Theater - IAP charts
-
Guys, one of these next days we should talk about which kind of procedure we’re talking about right here.
Anyway, I don’t think to need a chart to make a right approach in that case, thanks.
The localizers seem to be well embedded :rofl:With best regards,
Haha, hey Gianni my dear friend, what makes you think that would be days?
Hours maybe?
And believe me, you NEED this procedure, and NOT only you. A great asking…
Stay close then.5, 4, 3, 2, …

Well this photo has a different opinion:
Stand by… On the way… Soon… Veeeery soon

I can believe it well, dear Nikos, because everyone of us would land safe and well on that base
OK, OK, stop kidding now. Let’s wait and see the results…
With best regards,

A special Thanks to my friends “AMVI_Hawk” for providing me valuable real documents as also to “jomla” for updating the beautiful kneemaps!
See you at my next work for Balkans, that will be an approach procedure for Cervia airbase.

A big thanks Nikos! My dear friend, Thank you very much for your kindly words.
Well it is one of the most beautiful things to can give pleasure to others/friends! And also to show respect to others when they support you.
That last action is highly appreciated by me, and this nav. chart for Gioia del Colle is a way to show that.A big Thank you to all of you Gentlemen for your encouragement to me!
Enough. Next target is the beautiful Cervia airbase by Master “nove”, so except of an airport diagram it will has an ILS approach like in real life ;).
See you.

Well after some questions about the procedure of Gioia del Colle, I want to clarify the start of the procedure at IAF Fix.
Let’s see below a portion of the plan and profile views:
I have used color code in order to be crystal clear the specific tracks.
So when we crossing the IAF Fix at GIO TACAN on R-142/10 DME, we turn right with KIAS 230 and 30 deg. of bank until heading 142. We keep this heading until GIO 15 DME (until here is the green track).
Then at GIO 15 DME we turn right again with KIAS 230 and 30 deg. of bank until joining the GIO R-142 inbound with heading 322 (here is the pink track).
Then we keep our track of 322 on GIO R-142 inbound to GIO TACAN. We cross GIO 10 DME and continue keeping our heading of 322 on GIO R-142, until to intercept the ILS Localizer and Glide Slope at GIO 9.4 DME (here is the blue track).
All the previous course is level at 3,000 FT MSL. See the profile and don’t be confused with the minimum holding altitude that is 4,000 FT MSL.
In other words, it is mandatory to execute one full holding turn (but at 3,000 FT leveled) at the start of the procedure when we cross the IAF!
Also keep in mind that exiting the holding pattern on GIO R-142 at 10 DME, we continue our track on R-142 with heading of 322 deg. until to cross Localizer and Glide Slope at GIO 9.4 DME at 3,000 FT.
I think that now is more clear ;).
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. My pleasure to help you.

Are you planning on doing departure charts as well?

Hello my friend.
Well after the creation of an approach chart for Cervia airbase and Pescara airport, yes.
For the moment, only Aviano and Rivolto airbases in north Italy have a complete set of nav. charts, means an airport diagram, an approach chart and departure charts ;).
See you.

Hello Gentlemen.
There are 3 updates into the MAIP (nav. charts).
At page 24 Casale procedure, exiting the missed approach turn now you can intercept the radial to holding more easy and smooth:
At page 28 Gioia del Colle procedure, at profile it is more clear now the start of the procedure crossing the IAF Fix:
At page 39 Rivolto procedure, the departure procedure to Istrana replaced with the correct one to ISA TACAN (previous it was to ISTRA Fix, before “nove” updated the airbase):
Enjoy the new procedures ;).
Nikos. -
Thanks. Always on duty.
