So upset, yes angry that I “downgraded” to Windows 10 after all was just fine with Win 7. None of the scripts, Mud’s, Morphine’s or whosoever work especially DMS, TMS, etc. & some of the buttons on the throttle. Axis work but that’s about it.

      With much regret!

When you go into the control setup section of Falcon, what button numbers are reported when you press trigger on joystick and cursor enable on throttle? I’m guessing your devices have changed order so the 32-button sets have shuffled around. That or TARGET is having trouble fully functioning because the FAST service is troubled.

            Yeah you’re right Mower.

            Ok, thx Frederf.
            Joystick trigger: 33 (first stage), & 38 (2nd stage)
Cursor enable on throttle: TQS RDR Cursor - Cursor Zero

Yup, you’ve got the joystick and throttle in a different order than originally arranged. As we all know the first device in the drop down list gets assigned buttons 1-32, second 33-64, and so on.

So you’re pressing button #1 on controller 2 which is button ID 33 which your key file says “button 33? that’s ____.” Why pressing cursor enable on the throttle (what number?) results in the cursor zero callback I have no idea. Of course it depends on your .key file what button ID corresponds to what command.

Anyway, the drop down menu where you pick the primary controller reflects the list of and order of controllers that Falcon knows. Your goal is to rearrange this list so the 32-sized blocks of buttons match your key file again or failing that edit the key file to add and subtract multiples of 32 from all the button IDs to do the same.

A reliable way I found to reorder game controllers in W10 was the following:
              1. Open Game Controllers “Set up USB Game Controllers” control panel dialog and the Device Manager.
              2. Disable game controllers in Device manager to see which line corresponds to which controller.
              3. Uninstall a particular game controller in Device Manager and then immediately Scan for Hardware Changes which will promptly reinstall it, resetting its installed order.
              4. Repeat for the rest of the controllers.

Now Falcon’s controller list will be in a new order depending on the device order done in step #3 above. When the button numbers again match what that that button should do, you’re done. It may also be possible to reorder the devices in some other way but I know the Device Manager method works in W10.

I can find control panel & game controllers, but unable to find “set up game controllers”

Also unable to see which game controller is connected after disabling & uninstalling.

                  Thank you for further support.

Solved! Finally figured it out from your description Frederf. Thx so very much!!!

Here’s what I did with a little variation in my rig:
In Win 10 right click on start & select device mngr & control panel>Hardware & Sound>View devices & printers>Joystick - HOTAS Warthog>right click & select game controller settings.

Inside window you’ll see Joystick Throttle and peds & should be in that order top to bottom. If not select Human Interface Devices then right click on HID-compliant game controller & select disable. The disabled controller will then disappear in the game controller settings window. Then select uninstall - it should then disappear in Device Mngr. as well. Go to top of Device Mngr. & select Action>Scan for Hardware Changes. Do this to all game controller devices until the right order in game controller settings window are set in correct order.

Now I’m happy! Thx again Frederf!

I updated to win 10 and got the same problem with dx order fubared, so I changed them in the key file… Then win10 made an update that didn’t install correct and I couldn’t start the damn computer, I managed to revert to win7, but just before I reverted I disconnected all usb devices. Then with win7 up and running I connected them in the “correct” order as it originally was, if I only could have made a backup of the key file before I changed it in win 10 🙂
So if I would “upgrade” again I would disconnect all usb before and when it’s installed put them back in the correct order.

                          Hey guys,

so I have the same problem….grounded due to the unwarranted changes (forced update by Win10). I am trying to follow Frederf’s tutorial, but to no avail.

                          1. Open Game Controllers “Set up USB Game Controllers” control panel dialog and the Device Manager.
I open ‘Device Manager’ and this is what I see:

My Game Controllers looks like this:

                          2. Disable game controllers in Device manager to see which line corresponds to which controller.
This is where I encounter first problem, I see no ‘Game Controllers’. They are combined with the ‘Sound, video and game controllers’. Should I still disable this section?

                          3. Uninstall a particular game controller in Device Manager and then immediately Scan for Hardware Changes which will promptly reinstall it, resetting its installed order.
                          4. Repeat for the rest of the controllers.

Or should I just revert back to Win7? I opted for Win10 as it is the latest OS and I have heard that Skylake architecture will not support Win7 in the near future.

                          Thanks for your help!

I think you might find it under “Human Interface Devices”, but there’s a Thrustmaster Devices section also…

I’m still running Win8, luckely no problems there, but i think Fenrir’s advice, besides Mowers advice of course :D, is the best solution when upgrading to Win10…

Strange. I updated to WIN10 and installed the latest thrustmaster drivers and the throttle and yoke works just fine. At least on DCS A10C.

Sorry guys if I repost. In my hotlist there is a tool to set dx devices on the order you want. Doesn’t it work on Win10?

It doesn’t. W10 handles devices in a slightly different way to the JoyID tool’s capability.

Ok, I have followed the instructions in this thread. However, for some reason, in the sim doesn’t recognize my inputs from my TM Warthog Hotas or my Seitek peddles. Unless I highlight it in the setup/gamecontrollers. But I cant get the game to recognize all 3 input devices even though they all 3 show in the dropdown menu. any suggestions?

I found that although Win 10 reordered my devices, they remained consistently in the same new order. Therefore by reassigning the DX numbers in the key file one time to reflect the new order, I had no further problems with devices. OK, sure it’s a PIA.

Goto your Windows Control Panel and right click on the joysticks and in order of desired precedence select remove device.

Do it in the order you wish for the joysticks to order as they will automatically reinstall if they are not unplugged when you click remove device. They will then be in the correct order and you won’t have to change your DX ordering in your key file.

Sometimes Windows reorders the devices after restarts or after it is shut down. It’s a common issue I have to reorder from time to time when Windows does this to keep my key file settings.
