I’ve got this joystick, so I’'ll help. Use the ingame key mapper in the options. The only thing I use the logitech software for is a adjustable deadzone. My setup isnt the most optimized, I still use the keyboard for many of my controls because I’m used to doing it that way in other sims. Anyways, I’ll start with the Hat switch, I use it for the radar cursor. If you’re going to do that, I suggest turning off the extra four axis in the hat switch in the logitech software so that your view isn’t snapping around while trying to slew the cursor.
I’ll go through the buttons as how they’re numbered on the joystick.
        1. Guns
        2. Pickle
        3. TMS Down
        4. Radar tilt down
        5. TMS Up
        6. Radar tilt up
        7. DMS Up (Don’t really use, you could probably program it to something else)
        8. DMS Down (Switching SOI)
        9. TMS Left (Don’t use often, probably reprogram)
        10. TMS Right (Don’t use often, probably reprogram)
        11. Comms switch left (Datalink)
        12. Comms switch right (Datalink)

As you can see, mine is far from optimized but I’m too lazy to change it. 😄

          Thanks DrBlackJack!
You just made this playable! My problem was when I assigned a key in BMS it would show “No Key Assigned” next to it, even although I had assigned a joystick key. I was expecting to see a “Joy Btn 1” or something next to it.
Cool, this is a great help.

sorry but i don’t see any numbers on the buttons on the joystick on mine, ‘extream 3d pro’. do you have a diagram by change? thanks

UPDATE, i see now, bring up the properties panel for the controller then press the buttons to see which is which

now, how to reconfigure for a few things i like, the ‘1’ and ‘2’ keys for example

What I would love to see is the ability to use keyboard modifiers (shift, alt, ctrl) to enable multiple uses of each joystick button. I use this extensively in DCS to use my single coolie hat for trim control, TMS, CMS, DMS, etc.

I’m glad I just saw this, because I’ve been driving myself insane trying to figure out how to do it. Same situation, I’ve used modifiers in DCS so that my single hat has almost every function I need. Has anyone figured out perhaps a way to do this yet? BMS requires so much learning that I don’t want to spend most of it trying to memorize keystrokes, I want to get down to learning all the systems of the jet.
