ATC vectoring Wingman into ground at Kangnung Airfield.
-
I have problem when returning with a flight of Wingman. The ATC at Kangnung airfield gives them approach vectors which results in them flying into the mountainous terrain to the west of the base when landing at runway 080.
Is there anyway to fix this issue and has anyone else had the same problem?

yep lose them each time!

yes there is a way : wait for U1

That will be nice for all airfields where terrain is higher than ATC altitude assignments.

Short question: when?
As it is “only” an update i guess 3 to 4 days

Pointless question you mean.
Same answer as always… when it’s ready.

Tested, put a little wind coming from the west and the problem is solved.

Problem isn’t solved, they just use the other runway now.

trust me , ATC / AI is now my area of expertise, no way to solve it….
Unless you redefine the terrain to lower the mountains around.
Better to wait U1

Weird, yesterday evening, we flew at Kangnung, with several IL76 inbound to land on runway 08. None of them crashed into terrain.
Their arrival was from over water, from which they were guided to a right hand downwind leg over the river, and then turning final.

That’s what I do anyway, Mav, … on both points.
My post was just to point out to Tidji that changing wind don’t solve the problem,
but might force the AI to choose the “non crashing” approach.Q:
When you say: “ATC / AI is now my area of expertise”,
do you mean “just” the AI in correlation with ATC, or the AI in generally?
(I’ve heard some coders became sick while even just watching old AI code.)Cheers,
