A-A Extended FOV Question

Every time I invoke the extended A-A FOV view(SHFT 5), the HUD view appears (as it should) along with the target view box, but the HUD view is so large that it makes it unusable, and I cannot change it using the mouse wheel like I can the HUD only view (pressing 1). Does anyone have idea on how I can adjust it down in size so that it might be used? Thank you.
