I find a TacEdit 2.48 at the old PMC website. Is that version relevant? Any caveats?

      http://tactical.nekromantix.com/f4/downloads.php

Basicly, I want to add a name string to a building object, so that it will show up in the GUI map etc.

Can I do that with Mission Commander?

Also, is F4Browse 2.31 still relevant? And of course TheaterMaker 3.0 -> witchfix.

If there are later versions of these tools where do I get them?

And it’s been a long, long time since I hacked around in Falcon files. 🙂

As far as I know TacEdit 2.48 is the lates version that exists.

Mission Commander is also useful, but for all the possible changes and for a precise “tunning” TacEdit definitly is the tool, the problem is that it not user friendly, and many of the options that you can change are no known how they affect to campaign or tacs…

By the way thanks to Falcas with his Mission Commander you can do in a easy way a lot of things and changes (BIG THANKS FALCAS!!)

I think you will feel more confortable with lastest versión of FALCAS´ Mission Commander… it has a very user friendly “tab” showing the strings included on the String file, and thus, it seems easy as hell to mod it.

But, just to make sure about you intentions… either on MC or Tacedit, can moddify the name of Objectives… but not the internal names of the different DMPI´s (buildings, elements etc)… for that I presume you will have to use other tools.

          Keep it up!
