-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile

Hi Ice
Can you help me with some questions about the RWR display?
Iuse the same one that you use in your profile, that is theTFT Display from MFD
Extractor.
I find that the chaff and flare countdown works and the mode lights round the side all
work but what is the green indicator that says “MAN”? Should it change to indicate the
counter measure program selected ie STBY SEMI AUTO etc.
Also as I startup the sim I get a green “DISP RDY” sign in the bottom right corner
which then changes to “NO GO” and “PFL” in top left corner. -
Hello weepop,
My RWR is from the MFDE, yes. However, I’ve not really paid much attention to the other stuff except the counters, so I’m not really sure what the other bits mean.

ice i cant reply, your mailbox is full

I’m bloody fed up with this! I’ve emptied my inbox now, downloaded all my PMs and saved as text, XML, and CSV. Dunno how to view them, looks like the best format is text but I lose all the “history” bits and have to dig into the copies of the saved messages to review.
Oh well! I guess I have to “let go” sometime, hehehe…
Have at it, mantaray!

Thanks Ice everything is working now

Glad to hear you’re sorted!

Hi Ice,
Still playing about with your helios profile, just wondering if you could explain the arrows on the view screen?
Thanks
-
Rotates the view up/down/left/right and the other set was for zoom.
-
Thanks, Mr. Magoo. You solved my problem, too!

Hi Ice,
do you have any plans to up grade the MFD’s to High Definition? with the correct config settings the ones in cockpit seem sharper than the ones in helios - this is not a complaint just an observation and request?
Are there any up dates planned?
I must be doing something wrong as I cannot get the WDP to transfer onto the “CHARTS” option in Helios - it is probably me
-
No idea what you are saying re: MFDs. These are exported via the BMS exporter and has nothing to do with Helios at all. Please do share your “correct config settings,” and I’ll have a look. However, I have “double res” enabled for my MFDs and it’s sharp enough for me on the Helios profile. I rarely, if ever, look at the in-pit ones.
As to your problem re: charts, are you talking about the Data Card? Or the airport charts?
Re: updates, well, I still want to make a better, more complete chart collection for the different airbases, to include proper approach plates and such, but no time for it at the moment due to RL.

Ice… extremely useful information as I have a similar setup as you. Thanks !

Glad to have helped!

Anyone working with Ice’s profile in combination with GPT. So running the profile on client PC?
Seems GPT is not reconizing the SIM Callbacks and only letters or figures ?If this indeed is the matter then I need to rebuild the profile
-
Might not need to rebuild the profile, simply re-assign the switches to the proper callbacks… ie, re-map the switches to whatever works. Unfortunately, I have no experience with GPT.
-
Yeah, I know in network version (via GPT) de master PC does recognize assigned letter combinations (f.e. letter G for Gear) in Helios.
This does mean I would have to re-assign all the BNS callbacks by the corresponding letter combinations as in my keyfile. It is possible but lot extra work that I was hoping to avoid.
-
Just wondering if there is a way to get this working with WDP?
Thanks

It is possible but lot extra work that I was hoping to avoid. Will the Master PC recognize modified keys, ie CTRL+G, ALT+CTRL+G, and the like? If so, then you are good. All you need to do is to “connect” the profile with the .key file you are using, as I’ve shown in the first tutorial. You can use my .key file; all the callbacks are mapped and with a touchscreen, it doesn’t matter now what my key combinations are vs. your old key combinations as you won’t be using the keyboard anymore –- so what if my “Gear UP” is “X” and yours was “G”? Once you flick the gear lever up, you won’t even know the difference!!
You MIGHT want to check other callbacks if you use the keyboard for other things like ICP or view controls, but this would be the exception than the norm.
Just wondering if there is a way to get this working with WDP?
How exactly do you mean “working with WDP”?? All it can do is display the Data Cards from WDP, otherwise, there is no other “interaction” involved.
-
Sounds great…. How do you upload the wdp cards to helios? Thanks again for your help
-
Go to your …\Documents\Helios\Images\Helios Project\Data Card directory and paste your data card .jpgs there. They need to be renamed to 01.jpg and 02.jpg for Helios to show them, so just delete any old .jpgs there if you have any.
Note that you need to turn off Helios when doing this, and when you turn it on again, it’ll “refresh” and see the new cards. Access the cards via that Data Card button.
Hope that helps!
