-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile

Hello weepop!
I’ve not realized I could drag the MFDE gauges around by touch, always used the mouse, lol! Tried this out and it did move, but as I’ve never had this “problem” before, I don’t have a “fix” for this. However, I wonder why you are swiping over your MFDE outputs? Perhaps a different design layout would be better? As you can see in my profile, my switches are “separated” by putting them on a “panel background.”
As for the chart output, someone in the Helios forums did make a suggestion, kinda like a “script” that closes down all open images before opening the one you selected, but I’ve not tried it out yet…. so technically should be possible I guess but not 100% sure.
Hey Ice,
If I wanted to view the different departure charts or approach charts, then how would i do that using your profile. All I can get to come up is the initial airport diagram. I think that your profile is great and that would be my only question because as I stated I can pull up the diagrams of the airports but nothing else. Any suggestions

First, I want to thank Ice for providing the Helios profile that enabled me to enjoy Helios with my new touchscreen monitor. I am on to the next stage of learning Helios by trying to figure out how to add airport charts, frequencies, etc for theaters other than Korea. If anyone knows how Ice did this in his profile for Korea, I would appreciate an explanation of “how to” so that I can do it for Israel, Balkans and the like.

I have been using your HELIOS profile for several weeks and want to thank you for such an excellent profile. I have watched your video tutorials and still cannot understand how you cause a button to display a hidden panel when the hidden panel is NOT one of the panels that appear on the left side of the Helios editor. For example, how did you get the CHART button to display a series of AIRFIELD buttons and then have a particular airfield show up when the button with its particular name is pressed…a button within a button within a button.
Thanks -
does this work for android?
Could I run the MFD`s on my android (nexus 7) and have the TGP,FCR etc etc all so show along with the OSB buttons

THXS Ice for a great profile by the way im runing Helios and your profile on second PC and with Gigurra software i can export MFDs, RWR and DED but does anybody knows how to extract the rest of the instruments needed for this profile to work a second PC

Thanks Ice for a great profile, and an excellent Helios tutorial! I am running your profile without adjustments, except for my HOTAS DX setup in the keyfile. At rampstart; everything seems to work out fine, except that at one point I get a flashing WARN across my HUD and a flcs warning light at the right elbow. F-ACK however shows all systems ok. This does not happening if I rampstart without Helios. I can’t seem to find out what is happening… anybody an idea?

ICE, thanks for the great profile
Wampire, u can extract the rest of the instruments with MFDE Extractor.
Link to download MFDE:

Rightclick on icon in systems tray on TX PC, options available to extract lots of stuff. -
Thxs buddy, manage to solve the problem after i wrote a question now next is to build helios for
dcs on a second computer -
OMG…
I have spent half my day messing with this, and I think I have it working correctly now. To save others my troubles, here are my discoveries.
HELIOS would insta-crash when I launched this profile. What eventually made it stop crashing was removing the following section from the .hpf file using notepad:
<interface typeidentifier=“Helios.EOS.DirectSerial” name=“EOSBus (Direct Serial)”><port>COM1</port>
<boards></boards></interface>I don’t have this serial adapter so I guess the lack of it freaked out the software. I removed the sections pertaining to the saitek pedals and an F-16 MFD DirectX device while I was at it.
But then it still didn’t work, switches won’t flip in-game when done in HELIOS.
I have my BMS install in a non-standard location, so I figured that the path to the keyfile was wrong. Sure enough, it’s referenced:
<keyfile>C:\Games\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config\Ice’s BMS WH Profile v3.key</keyfile>
I changed it to match my install path, should work, right? Nope!
Eventually I realized the problem… the included path references “Ice’s BMS WH Profile v3.key”, but the supplied keyfile is called “Ices BMS WH Profile v3.key”, note the lack of apostrophe…
Fixed that and now it’s good to go!
Ice, thanks for your great work on this profile, it looks really good. You might want to change the file name and/or path, and include a line in your instructions about how to modify the Falcon install path in the file, since finding the Falcon config section in Helios after loading a profile is a bit counter-intuitive even after watching your videos. Editing a text file is easy

Doh. I read the whole thread before and somehow that part didn’t stick in my brain.
I also ended up chasing a Windows Aero theme thing for a while… Helios pops a warning when you launch it if Aero is off that you might have worse framerates and such. I must have been chasing the Aero problem for an hour before I figured out that it had been disabled by either logmein’s mirror driver or displaylink drivers (I uninstalled both of them at once, bad troubleshooting but I was getting impatient)

Gday guys, I am having a few issues in game. I have built my own helios pit in BMS using Ice’s profile in game, however I am unable to bind ECM on/off, even the key strokes in game dont work. Is there a way to change the key strokes for this? is anyone experiencing the same problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.
