      Dear all,

I tested JSOW and WCMD weapons by changing the option, Impact Spacing.
From the document, it defines the distance between two centers of bombed drop points (four dots from the below example).
But when I did couples of tests, I derived that two bombs were impacted roughly two times wider ( eight dots ).
Is there anyone who tested the option?

      Thanks in advance,

Ex) ‘X’: steerpoint ; '0’s is the bombing point

A quick test with SDBs (which also have this option despite it not being in the -34) shows that you may be on to something.

I used the Kunsan runway (which is supposed to be 150 ft wide) dropping 2 pairs of side-side SDBs.

First pair with 150ft spacing, with aimpoint middle of the runway at the 36 approach end
Second pair with 75ft spacing, with aimpoint middle of the runway at the 18 approach end.
Now the spacing is supposed to be the TOTAL spacing between the impacts. So with 150ft set on a 150ft runway they should hit on either edge, and with 75ft they should hit halfway on each side.

However the 150ft spacing ones impact well wide of the runway (presumably with 2 x 150 ft = 300 ft spacing) and the 75 ft spaced pair impacts along the edges of the runway (presumably a 2 x 75 = 150 ft spacing).

Hopefully a simple fix in 3-4 weeks.

        Screens:

I’ll check the real manual but to me, I think it should no be the total spacing between two bomb, but side my side of the SPI. So the implementation in Falcon should be ok.
I will have a look on the doc.

Manual says 1/2 impact separation on both sides of the target location. 🙂

I confirm that the code is taking full distance - So if you set x feet then the distance to EACH SIDE will be x. If that is wrong then I should fix (easy :)).

                @Tomcat84:

Manual says 1/2 impact separation on both sides of the target location. 🙂

That is as it should be - a stick should maintain the interval between munitions, but the entire stick should be centered on the designation. If it’s not doing that…then it’s wrong.

realistically in game regardless of the angle to target of the munitions drop the JSOW hit destroys the same number of ground forces correct? I mean I don’t have to align my attack with the target (for example an armored column in line formation) correct?

JSOW footprint is oval not circle so that the alignment might be more effective. But I am not sure this is modeled in BMS.
When i tested two JSOWs in tandem and in side-by-side, as u mentioned , both are very similar effect.

I have check in the some manual and indeed, it should be 1/2 of the distance between the SPI and one of the bomb. Good catch.

Yes indeed (Also checked). I’ll fix it 🙂
