I routed it to the wrong IP. In the list of devices, my Computer is listed twice. I chose the wrong device at first.
I cross referenced the IP adress in the port list (‘an Computer’) with the one given out by cmd/ipconfig and found the error.

No need for TCP either (in BMS - no idea about DCS).

IVC should also have UDP ports 9987 - 9989 forwarded.

It’s because the variable IP assignment. The Router must have had saved an older IP from when I unplugged my PC or something.

Another thing I fixed was problems with IVC.
The client wouldn’t recognize the microphone or headphones.
Had to go into sounds an set those two as the sole default devices in their respective category. Now that works, too.

                    Did that too 🙂
                    Later on though.

Suggest you set up your Windows IP4 for that connection as a static IP versus dynamic. That fixes the problem of port forwarding going no where due to un-expected IP changes internally.

Manual says ivc no longer needs ports forwarding. Have I misunderstood that ?

IVC clients do not need ports forwarded but, IVC Host does.

                            strange.
I needed to forward the appropriate ports, even though I was just a client.
Before that, I could never connect with IVC activated.

In any case, I would just open them anyways. It’s fairly simple once you know your way around your router.

                              Told you 😉

Incidentally that is where the initial release of the BMS Manual is incorrect. It should have said port forwarding for IVC Clients is no longer necessary, but IVC Hosts will still need to forward the ports. However, as you have found, some routers do still need to have the ports forwarded, even for clients.

The next version of the Manual will probably just recommend everyone forwards UDP ports 2934 & 2935 for BMS and 9987, 9988 & 9989 for IVC. Once you have set up port forwarding on your router and set up DHCP Reservation to make sure that your BMS PC’s internal IP address doesn’t change, you shouldn’t need to touch those settings again.
