Why does the autopilot use the afterburner for the entire route? There isn’t one situation that I’ve been in where the afterburner is not used when reaching altitude, etc. Also when using autopilot, the plane is always pitched up at at least +13 degrees. This can’t be normal.

      Thanks

        Autopilot doesn’t control airspeed
        Which aircraft?

Because it can’t be F-16 unless the throttle is left in AB

Or do you mean the combat autopilot?
        Need more precision

okay you need to put your autopilot setting on realistic….

combat AP is not an autopilot, it is mainly used for debugging purpose or in case you really want to fly X32 and go directly on action…

Use real autopilot will allow you much much more possibilities, especially blended with TFR 🙂

this also happens on Steerpoint autopilot. Often the AI on that setting will constantly spool up to afterburner, roll back close to idle, then repeat during barcaps and other flights.

Any autopilot other than “3-axis” isn’t an autopilot but really an AI sitting on your lap flying the plane for you. It’s not good to think of it as an airplane system but a cheat/helper for a game.

And what you have to know is that it is even not the same than a pure AI ( => do not expect exactly the same behavior than a pure AI)
IMO, this “option” should be removed from ingame setup page and placed into the .cfg for Btest purpose only.
