The Old Dance

First off I want to thank all those folk that have kept this sim alive. It has been a long time since I have climbed into the cockpit of Falcon. Stopped when raising my son became a priority. Well now he’s a grown man and off on his life adventure, I seem to have more time on my hands, so I got my self an X55 and my old copy of falcon and BMS 3.2 and only to find my computer sucks.

So my wife and have done some cleaning and what do I find but my CD’s of old Falcon stuff and BMS 2. After all of This is to ask if any one can remember the dance. On the CD’s are all of my theaters and Ayers cockpits, and all sorts of other stuff. Yet I cannot remember the dance. So if there is someone that can remember that old dance so that I could get Falcon BMS 2 up and running, I would be very grateful.

Install falcon 4 then 1.08 update then sp4 then BMS2 IIRC.

BTW I doubt however if any of the old stuff will even run on Windows 7/8/10 (could be that I’m wrong though :))

Hehe… lazystone, congrats, mate, I can’t even remember mine… I remember I had a rather unusual BMS mod numbered 1.044 at the time when most people enjoyed 1.03… And surely remember the good times we had at Frugal’s, the frugodolars, rep points, Pilot’s Bar later renamed to Goose’s Bar etc. Around 2006 I was more fascinated by Jane’s F/A-18, and there was a gentleman with a nick ‘Recluse’ (I think he’s a member here, too) with whom we exchanged quite a number of PM’s and I received tons of very useful tips and hints regarding the Superbug (all the best, Recluse, if you happen to read this). Great, great times… :bdance:

Hi All thanks for all the help, but No Joy. I-Hawk is right nothing works in Windows 7. I got the UI up and running but when you try to fly, Crash.
Oh well, maybe I’ll be a new computer later this year so I’ll pack every thing away till then. I have AF working so I can train in that. BMS3.2 works now but the graphics have to be turned down so low,whats the point. Anyway thank you all, also for all the Laughter I received in this post. Thanks again Blackdog

have you installed dx?

IIRC one year ago I was able to run the Cobra version on win 7.

How would one set up XP sp3 Compatibility in windows 7? could you start me in the right direction? Do not know Windows 7 very well been out of computers for a wile.

i remember frugals world i did a bit of testing on Sp3 with Fangs. Don’t know if you know him man?

Sir… I think you ahve to click on the execution file before you run or install the game . I mean Right click and one of the options is compatibility mode when you select that i think there’s a drop down menu to select which version of windows you want it compatible to. just choose Win XP sp3.
