An update on progress towards 4.33 availability
-
For me it’s clear, I will buy a Falcon Steam version only if a real deal is done with BMS.
-
I’ve already bought both GOG and Steam version of Falcon4.0 even though I already had a original one. I also bought another one for a steam friend who showed an interest in BMS. I was to buy yet another one but suddenly this issue came out.
I am really hoping to see Retroism(Tommo Inc), who has revived a legendary flight sim, and BenchMarkSims, a current developer of Falcon4.0, reach the appropriate agreements in next 3-4 weeks to continue its legendary.I am also looking forward to the release day of “Disgaea PC: Digital Deluxe Dood Edition”:)

This is fair enough hopefully it is resolved soon

Closing this one as I’m sure we’re all hoping for a positive outcome from the discussions.
An update will follow when there is new information to share.

I know this thread was closed, and probably appropriately so, but in the spirit of not littering up the forum with a ton of threads on this topic, I’l going to cheat and update the thread here anyway.
I want to thank everyone for the notes of support and for your collective patience. Discussions continue and I cannot say that we have a conclusion just yet. However, I will say that we are now engaged in some development work which I hope will allow us to finalize agreement and allow the resumption of distribution for the Benchmark Sims community add-on. You can be sure that as this conversation marches towards conclusion that we have the community’s wishes and interests firmly in mind – after all, the BMS team is fundamentally part of the community we have the privilege to serve.
Hang in there: the original Falcon 3-4 weeks timer hasn’t expired yet and I’m still hopeful that we can beat the buzzer on that one.

I’d love to be able to tell you that we are all the way done, but as of today we continue to march towards the finish line but we’re not quite there yet. Until we cross the line, it’s always possible that we won’t actually make it. However, all the indications I have seen are trending well and conversation is now in a phase that largely touches on implementation strategy.
Once again I want to remind you all: the BMS team is a part of this community and thus everyone here – be they dev, tester or player – has an interest in the team being able to keep moving the state of the Falcon 4.0 art forward in a way the majority here will find comfortable. That is what we are working toward. I am optimistic that this is exactly what we will see on the other side of that finish line I mentioned.
I’ve seen a few unhappy and/or unhelpful comments floating around because we don’t have a release to share right now. Obviously the situation with having no work to share is regrettable but I believe it’s only a short term thing. Most have you have been calm and are being patient – your support personally and by encouraging others to do the same are both helpful and appreciated.
