How to get 3rd party key commands working?

Using BMS editor for CH gear and for the life of me I can not get my trackIR pause to respond to keyboard presses when the sim is running. Works fine when sim in off. I am trying to study this stuff and need to pause the TrackIR often but cant. Any help would be appreciated…thx

check if nothing else is already mapped to the same key in your keyfile.

Nope, F9 is what is in the keystroke editor shows, there are a couple with a set modifier. Any other ideas?

ShepT, go into the IR Control panel, expand the panel so you see The track clip and Traclip pro btns, and the Speed and smooth setting. Select profile tab, look down and find Hot Keys. Below that you will see Action and Key. Click on action, drop down menu will appear, select pause. then move over to key btn and click that and change the pause key to a unused key or key you will not use in game and that should do it.

No that is not it. I setup the trackir just fine been using it for many years. It seems when i run the sim these key are hijacked by the game. I wonder if it is a resolution issue. I have 3 monitors but have been only running it in one so i can have all the resources i need to study this thing. I will try it in full res but I am sure when i first started this i was able to pause the TrackIR.

Nope that didn’t solve my problem. From the post so far I guess this is not the tipical behavior. I will test it with another 3rd party program, fraps and see if it hijacks the keys for it. Any other suggestions?

Tried Fraps with same key strokes, they worked with no problem. So it seems my TrackIR hotkeys do not work with BMS running is unique to TrackIR and not other application hotkeys. Any ideas on what this could be?

I get a couple issues with TrackIR lately. Often TIR will stop responding unless the TIR program is in focus. This seems like some sort of UAC/admin/account protection problem as sometimes running various things as admin fixes it.
The other problem I get is TIR won’t see any input except mouse buttons. For example recenter will stop working and if I alt-tab over to TIR and try to reassign the key to recenter it won’t recognize that any DX or key is pressed but it will recognize mouse1.

doh…i figured it out, sometimes its so obvious that it is overlooked. Solution launch trackIR as Admin. doh
