X-56 Slider/Second Rotary

Anyone have tips on how to assign the slider as an axis? Also any idea how to get the second rotary to map? I can usually get the first rotary (of the two on the throttle base) but cant get the second one to come up.

I know it’s different, but on the X-55, Snelle says you have to use the Saitek software for the slider (he explains why), he does solve the rotary issue using dx in the keyfile, and the mini-stick he uses a windows registry entry to make it work to move the radar cursor. The second rotary may be assigned to another random control (HMCS brightness, etc.) which is why you may not be seeing it. I have an X-55 and haven’t found the slider to be useful. It’s basically a single button that gets pushed once when you slide it forward. I’d recommend mapping your speedbrake to the upper throttle hat and not bothering with the slider.

I have RTY 4 set HUD Brightness and don’t bother with the slider. I have just finished a DX profile and will post it once tested. BMS Control UI listed as SLIDER is in fact the rotary knob RTY 4
My RTY 3 is Yaw Trim (Rudder). Listed as DIAL in BMS Control UI.
My Mode Switch is set M1 = Master Arm ON
M2 = Master Arm Off
S1 = Master Arm Sim2 Position Rotary Knob = Zoom IN FWD
= Zoom Out RWD
SHIFTED = Default Zoom FWD or RWDOther shifted functions are mostly Comms related and may need changing or removing all together as shifted hat switch functions on stick are awkward at best. May shift them from hat 1 to hat 3 or 4 on throttle.

the slider needs to be setup as an advanced keyboard macro, both push and release.
The rotarys will not turn into new axis in the other modes, so you only get 4, but the mouse cursor wheel on the pinkie of the throttle can work like a rotary, if you set up all your rotarys to work as bands, you CAN get more functions in different modes. -
Do you have an existing SST profile? If so can you point me to a DL and I’ll modify it for you so the slider works if not I can send one through that you can use.

yeah like others said, if you assign it to an axis in falcon it will always do that no matter what mode you have it set to or what it is modeled in the software, unless you assign it as bands in the software in the other modes.
generally you want mode 1 to be raw input from falcon, otherwise known as callbacks, and then everything below that in mode 2 and mode 3 or S1 whatever that means should be button presses modeled through the logitech software using the falcon keyboard callbacks, the slider button 32 on the throttle wont work in falcon unless you set it up as an advanced macro in the saitek software in all three modes set it to whatever you want, like most here I use it as a speed brake, so that would just be “b” in press and “b” in release and you’re done, just set it in all three modes to be the same.
The simplest way to setup a profile is to go into the software with a keyboard map and do everything by hand to your liking for mode 2 and mode3 or s1 whatever that means, I use mode 2 for fence in and landing, mode 3 or s1, whatever that means, is for ramp start takeoff landing and fault tests or emergencies, mode 1 is setup through falcon by using the controller page and has all the basic falcon callbacks on the stick and the throttle.
I swap dms and the comms switch to the thumb 4 ways on the throttle, i use the trim hat on the stick to trigger VAC, the jammer, cycle AG weapon and NVGs. having DMS right next to the slew on the throttle makes it way more intuitive, and then I have TMS where it should be on the stick. I set the e button on the throttle to cms forward and the switches on the aft of the throttle base closest to your body are the slap switch and cms left. You can get about 60 functions out of one mode, you can play with only one mode and make no compromises. Best HOTAS for falcon hands down because of the functionality of the software and the sensitivity and precision.
set up your stick right use the pinky and the paddle right, just mirror the sidestick basically sans the changes I made if you want, and you’ll be happy as a clam.

I was starting to think the same thing? One rotary knob is called Slider the other is Dial. Not really sure why he’s having so much trouble. I think he must have realised and hasn’t come back to thread, so this thread is dead maybe?
