Little suggestion - can it be made so i’ll be able to drag the client window around by pointing anywhere in it and dragging? as it is in MFDE?
Problem is i use win8 tablet for mfd and it’s a bit of a pain aligning mfd window without a mouse (and a scroll wheel).
Also, in client windowed mode, the mfde’s gauge/mfd will cover the taskbar. yame doesn’t. (again tablet issue).
Thanks! If you click on a window empty spot (not covred by any gauge) when in ‘edit gauge’ mode you can drag the window where you like.
-
Not without a mouse i can’t
And i’m not talking about gauges. I’m talking about ‘whole’ ‘window’…
Only way i can use it now is ‘Fullscreen’ ‘window’, but i cant close it/switch out of it without connecting a keyboard.
Not tablet friendly as of now. -

Nor have we ever claimed it to be.
Most users with tablet so far have used it as tablet via wifi or connected as extensions of the desktop so the windows can be dragged with a mouse onto tablet part. -
I also use it over wifi. Just a little hard to config without a mouse and a keyboard. That’s all.
-
I can understand, but not having a tablet myself it’s quite hard to imagine how things are. So please, if you have suggestions on how to make yame even more confortable to use with tablets, write us (better in pm) some lines and we will take into consideration for sure.

I don’t understand. If your tablet is used as an extension of your desktop, you see your tablet as a second monitor in windows, so you can just drag & drop your entire yame window onto it with your mouse via the computer.

I used AirDisplay but there are multiple solutions available.

Can you not use a stylus? Or as Focal suggested, make it so that your tablet is seen as an extra monitor and you can configure it from your Windows PC.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately I cannot replicate this behaviour. Maybe Roccio or BVT_Scorpion have an idea?
Or other users? Some things that have caused problems in the past I noted down, maybe some of these apply to you?
- Windows aeroglass disabled might cause issues
- enabling “trama S3TC” in OpenGl Texture compression might cause issues
- SLI issues
- AFR - Crappy FPS (not really sure why, have never tried it before)
- AFR2 - Good FPS - No left MFD and RWR in YAME.
- SFR- Good FPS - YAME rendering fine.
thanks Focaldesign,
the culprit is indeed window aeroglass.
now after turning it on, it seems to work.however, I get a lot of “BMS stopped working” appcrash quite often, and sometimes the extraction does not work, I get blank MFD instead.
If that happens, I have to restart the computer to make it works again.
are there some setting to make yame works better?
please advise.my system is i3 o/c to 4ghz.

First of all I want to thank the developers of the YAME64 suit for this great program. Special thanks for Focaldesign for helping me to understand YAME64 better.
I am using the moving map a lot, it really helps me with my SA. At this moment the Korea and Balkans map is 2048x2048. Will it be possible to use the 4096x4096 version of the Korea map in the near future?Keep up the good work.

Already implemented in the next version!

You’re welcome!
As -Ice said, higher res maps will be possible in the coming release.
By the way, still need to test our new RC but it contains your feature request to be possible to set tje map page as default start page instead of the data page. Be adviced though, only data page is available when emergebcy bus power is available. Other pages only available when non esessential bus is Powered. -

win 7/64.BMS runs fine without YAME?
Do you use the hook for the textures? -
BMS runs fine, I never see “BMS stopped working” before yame.
No, I do not use hook. -

Stylus to do what? To resize i need a mouse wheel
And using airdisplay etc is counterintuitive when i can just be a yame client.

Sorry but I still don’t understand the problem. You say the tablet is an extension of your monitor, so you can just move your pc mouse onto the tablet screen and do everything you need.

Well, you can manually input the sizes of the gauges in YAME, so there’s that method….
-
Another option: you know the resolution of the tablet screen. On server pc make the window you will later want on the tablet. Make it the correct size, set the gauges etc how you want. Then save that layout. Copy the layout xml you saved onto the layout folder of the tablet client and open it there.
In the next version autostart with parameters can be used, so then you could have a shortcut on the tablet that will open yame, load the correct layout, start the client and minimise the UI all at one click.

I never said it’s an extension! Why??? I use server/client over lan.

that’s what i’ve done. But i can’t exit Fullscreen Yame ‘window’ without connecting a keyboard (to use hotkey). No other way to switch out of it barring manipulations with windows key… I guess you didn’t understood my original problem…
With MFDE i just add instruments which i want on ‘client’ machine, then drag them around/resize withIN a desktop (not fulscreen) with a finger easily. Also those windows cover the taskbar (yame’s windowed window won’t)…
