Joystick Recommendation Pls
-
Hello,
I am returning from oh….say 8 years. Had Falcon 4.0 with a Wingman Extreme Joystick (gameport).
I just downloaded update 6 and am in need of a new joystick.
Could I please get recommendations as to which joystick would be optimum for BMS.
Thank you.

I would say either the Warthog or the Cougar…both by Thrustmaster. The cougar is a replica of a f16 block 52 so it’s more realistic when flying the f16 in Falcon. But it might be hard to get. The Warthog on the other hand is easier to come by. It has the same stick…only the throttle is a replica of an A10c. It’s still a great one, even if you’re flying F16. I use it myself and it works great. Of course it’s expensive so you could always go for a cheaper stick…the logitech extreme 3d pro is a nice and very cheap stick. Used it before and it did last quite long. But if you really want to get “into” the sim I’d spend a little bit more money for a Warthog or a Cougar. Believe me, it’s worth it.

HOTAS Cougar with FCC3 mod (and best of the best, with a Warthog grip)
Or
Warthog Fligh Stick (without throttle) modded FSSB R3 plus Cougar throttle with TUSBA USB adapter.
…
-
HOTAS Cougar base with FCC3 or Realsimulator Forcesensor => Stick from the Thrustmaster Warthog on top
HOTAS Cougar throttle (with or without TUSBA USB adapter)
SIMPEDS F16 plus rudders
and the list goes on and on and on …… -
The real question you need to ask yourself is, how much money do you want to spend. Only then can the original question be properly answered…
-
hotas cougar for the metal in shape and form (and temperature = cold) + FSSB R3 from realsimulator for the force sensing like real + throttle arm rebuild (POINT)

That puts it quite well.
I have a Logitech G940. Love it! It can conform to different aircraft configurations as well. I had the Cougar. GREAT HOTAS! But it was a bit limited with only 1 throttle quad. The G940 has 2 throttle quads. Great for dual engine jets (Like the Hornet
). So, it come down to what you want and what you can afford. Since I fly other aircraft now and then, I like the ability of a dual throttle quad. The Warthog is also a dual throttle quad. But very expensive (and I don’t like the miss matched quadrants either, just my opinion). There are many HOTAS set ups to use. What’s your budget and what do you want out of a HOTAS? If it’s just the F-16, then Cougar all the way. If you are going to fly other stuff, then look at HOTAS set ups that are a bit more diverse.

What jhook & hollywoodvillian said and when reviewing your budget look at the TrackIR if you do not have one already. It is a real game changer. Right up there with a good HOTAS.

I fly with CH products HOTAS, including the CH pro pedals, fighterstick, pro throttle. Combo’d with cougar MFDs and Track IR 5. Less expansive than the Thrustmaster gear and performs great!

I have to agree. What’s your budget?
Obviously if money is no object go get a Warthog. If you’re feeling frisky get a Cougar, but it’ll be more than likely used.
But if I had to do it all again, I’d still buy a CH stick and throttle and take the money saved over the Warthog and get the TrackIR at the same time. And some Thrustmaster MFDs

ABSOLUTELY well said. Trackir is a MUST! I would rather fly with a $40 t.16000m and have a trackir than fly a $1000 fssb modded the crap outta cougar or hog with no trackir….It’s nice to have both, but right now your budget is pure speculation.

Saitek X-55 here, everything HOTAS covered (not 100% original stick/throttle assignments), reasonable price, like it

If you have the Chance: Get a Cougar, and mod at least the Stick with force sensing - and maybe the Throttle with it real detends
