Question about Supply
-
I’ve noticed that all of a sudden, several of my squadrons in Rolling Fire are OUT in almost every weapon, including tanks. It is so bad, that carrier based flights are being tasked with TASMO flights, armed only with AIM7s/9Ps and unguided rockets. Others, from Choongwon (159th, from memory) are being send deep into North Korea with no tanks, as the squadron have none left. Is this a bug or a feature? The 35th, 80th, and 36th out of Kunsan and Osan have plenty of supplies - it appears that only newly deployed squadrons in day two are out of supplies.
The next resupply isn’t for another 8+ hours, so in the mean time I’m simply aborting/deleting all flights tasked from those squadrons.
On a related note, I read this from the BMS manual:
@Page:
Yes, just because you took over, doesn’t mean the war stops! We have to clean them out.
There are two ways to do this, advance the campaign in x16 until they have all flown and landed (you risk losing
airframes this way), or click on each flight, remove the weapons, find it in the ATO and delete it. If a flight is
inbound to a target you can abort the package to recall them.Without reading through every page of all the manuals, I can’t find any more info on this. Does this suggest that if I do not first remove the loadout of each flight, the ordnance will be wasted when I delete the flights/packages?

Saw the same thing……guess the new Resupply code is not used by the campaign…???
Just a guess…but I would think one would rebuild the .cam with the current DB and .exe…???tired demer

Well, for now I ‘cheated’ by using the resupply button on the new squadrons. I don’t really see it as cheating, as a find it hard to believe an entire fleet would mobilise to war and not take any munitions with them! ha

Not ‘cheating’ if ur winning……LOL!
Maybe PM Biker on it if you have exact times and dates. Maybe he can throw it to the BETA Hound’s and see whats up.
DUNNO?Cheers,

I’ve always wondered this about the squadron stores -
If you land with unused ordinance (say AIM-120s or empty drop tanks) do they get added back into the stores or are they considered “used up” as soon as you start your mission?
-
There is a bug which means unused stores are not always returned to squadron stores when a flight is deleted. Manually clearing the loadout before you delete a flight will avoid this problem, or you can top up stores with Mission Commander.
This bug has now been found and fixed, so future versions should not have this problem.

Just to clarify my post above, Update 2 does include this and other Supply related fixes. Planehazza is still running Update 1 in the campaign he is writing about.
Excerpts from the changelog:
-
Weapons will now be moved back to squadron stores if a flight is deleted from ATO
-
New supply code (can be disabled via “set g_bNewSupplyCode 0” in *.cfg):
- We now use sorted lists with high priority recipients first
- Supply bonus received by a team when going into offensive now is dependent on available (not yet destroyed) production sources
- When a flight uses a weapon which is no longer available in squadron stores, all other weapons will be reduced by 5%
- Supply code can be made “verbose” (MonoPrints) for via *.cfg variable (set g_nSupplyDebug_Team, -1 = off, 0 = team 0, 1 = team 1, …, 8 = all teams)
-
Battalions now will lose supplies depending on the ground action (when battalion is moving) and also while doing nothing (can be adjusted via variable “BattalionSupplyAttritionTime” in *.aii, default is 6 hours)
-
New challenge rating code, we’ll adjust supply time instead of unit vehicle slots (for disabling add “set g_bNewChallengeRatingCode 0” to the *.cfg)
-
Supply code will not fill-up more weapons to the stores than we had originally anymore
