We`re currently adjusting the server after being informed of the issue(s) related to not committing to 3D while hosting.

EDIT: Server is back online with recommended settings…
Too bad the server has to be in 3D as none of the management scripts I wrote can run the UI if the server is in the VU. So no autosaves, and no crash recovery until the server can run in the 2D realm.

Yah dude, I just found thins info out myself last night through another thread. Sounds like the automated stuff is out the window unless it’s changed.

Also of note, there is a thread here that talks about the ability to set flags against squadrons that will allow/disallow clients to change a particular squadron’s ATO.

Not to stray this too far off topic….

• I really have no idea. With my last deployment, I have been on about a year hiatus from TS. Still talk to Jay occasionionally, however I have no idea what his intentions are. I’m not even sure he knows about BMS. I only know there hasn’t been a server for quite some time. Which, to be honest, doesn’t bother me at all since some of the folks that were there just needed to find somewhere else to go. And it’s worked, so not all in all a bad thing.

• I posed some questions on that other thread just to get a baseline down of what would be required to do something like that. Just looking ahead, preparing for the unexpected in case something did develope.

• The future looks good for BMS if it continues to develope. That 3D deal sure does make it a pain in the ass to figure out how to make it play nice for the lenght of time that would be required to do something along the lines of what was capable with AF. The biggest things being, as you say, using some form of script to add automation to the server. I guess time will tell, but that is a big hurdle to climb over ATM.
