      Hello Forum.

      Two questions please:

      I understand (?) how to set up EWS programs in the data cartridge.
      However, are there keys which select the programs 1 to 4 in flight or does one have to look down in the cockpit to turn the knob?

      Secondly, MARK points.
      I understand how to input these, but other than showing a route to an alternative airfield for example, why else are they used?

        1. there are callbacks in the keyfile that increase and decrease the EWS program. Progincr and progdecr I believe? On my mobile. Remember that you’ve also got program 5 on your CMS and program 6 as a slap-switch that you can use as well.

        2. you can put mark points on targets of opportunity that you may want to visit later. You can also send them to human wingmen, who can then reference and target them.

          I use mark points to send targeting information to my flight mates.

            in the real jet you have to use the program knob on the CMDS panel. However in the sim every working switch/knob has callbacks so you can assign those to a button on your joystick for example.
            Do keep in mind though, you can already use 3 separate programs in the jet without having to change the knob (this is so in the sim and in the real jet). On the stick, CMS up triggers the program you have set on the CMDS panel knob (1, 2, 3 or 4), and CMS left always triggers the program 6. You also have the slap switch on the left wall near the throttle, which always triggers program 5.

            Please reference the BMS-Dash1.pdf manual in your BMS/Docs/Falcon BMS Manuals/ folder on page 24 section 1.2.1.16 (throttle grip & left side wall), page 30 section 1.2.2.4 (CMDS panel) and page 51 section 1.2.5.2 (sidestick controller) for all the details.

            Alternate should already be in your flight plan thus loaded in your DTC, not as a new MARK point.
            You can use it for whatever you want. For example save a precision ground location of a target of opportunity, based on your search with the TGP (TGT waypoint in flight plan references to an airport for example and you select the tower with TGP, mark point that for JDAM coordinates), or to send a specific location to another flight or package member (for example I am winchester so no more bombs but I spotted moving vehicles, so I mark that location and send it to my wingman who has bombs left with the IDM, or gps coords over radio)…

              This sounds more like a steerpoint than a markpoint.

              A steerpoint is point along your flight path (including the alternate air base). A markpoint is a point created in flight to mark a location for reference or to share with another flight/package member …. for instance to share the location of an enemy column with your wing man.
