Throttle Fix for Control

Probably, but i remember reading somewhere that certain types of grease and lubricants don’t mix well with plastic and rubber parts. They can dissolve the plastic over time. Red rubber grease was the safest from what i read and it’s what TM used when they greased things up at the factory. Up to you but better safe than sorry. When i ordered my little pot of the stuff from ebay it arrived in a couple of days.
Yeah lithium grease is fine for plastic, just not sure exactly which to go for. Leaning towards this stuff:

Is this stuff suitable? Icarus, your tape worked wonderfully, so thank you all these years later
Or the 3M 5480 stuff: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-PTFE-Film-Tape-5480-Gray-1-in-x-36-yd-1pc-/152203642355?hash=item23700b45f3:g:cQoAAOSw-itXrkCc
I need to source more to do it again as I’ve stripped the entire unit down for an overhaul.
Sorry for going on about it again, just all of the original links are dead. I see the 3M 5480 stuff is perfect but it’s mentally expensive and I really only need a foot of the stuff.

Quite surprised at how well the foil on the ‘bearings’ alone has improved it. Even on the lowest, the stiction and friction is still too much so I’ll be applying teflon tape as soon as I can source some more.
