Falcon crash after adjusting graphics

Sorry, I just copied and pasted the 4.33 UI from an above post. Mine is just the 4.33. The crash log should be correct.

You still haven’t give a full system specs. Badger did ask.
CPU, Memory, Hard drives, Motherboard, Gpu and its onboard V-ram size,
OS Was it a upgrade from Windows X or fresh install. ?
Is the SSD the only drive ?
Is there any overclocking ?
Have you cleaned/checked the CPU and GPU heat-sinks for dust buildup?
Have any small pets gone missing ?
Do you have a problem with crawling insects ?What is the numeric value for “the meaning of life” ?
Does your girl friend use to much make up ?
Do you vote republican ?Opps sorry getting off subject, ignore those last two questions. Correct answer is XX
Do other Apps/Games still run OK ?
Version of BMS, 32 or 64 bit ?
What are your “in game settings”
Have you created a profile in your Nvidia control panel for Falcon ?
Is the Power Supply of adequate size ?
Is it full of dust ?
Is its Fan running ?And
4.33u1 is the only officially supported version, so don’t expect help from the devs.
That’s why the latest reg-clean doesn’t work. And most important of all Do you fly DCS ?

Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 7 OS
AMD Phenom 2 X4 840 processor 3.20GHz- liquid cooled
64-bit operating system
4GB of Ram
Motherboard ASUS AM3+SSD? not sure.
Overclocking, I don’t think so.
Dust, yes.
Small animals missing, I wish.
Small insects, this miserable summer season, yes.All my other games have been working fine. I can play Skyrim and Fallout 4 and others all day with no problems, and they seem like more demanding games.
I have been flying around now for at least an hour brushing up on the new GBU’s, HARMs and AGMs with no problem. I am going to start the campaign again without messing with the DTC and see how long I can fly.
-
OK then, if its stable with Fallout then there cant be a overheat/hardware problem. Very strange.
Did you bring many files over from a old install ? Sorry if that has already been asked.
Here’s hoping……
As for the data cartridge try just setting the tower to UHF 15, and make it the default.
PS: if you don’t do a ramp don’t “load” the Data Cartridge in pit.
It might be a silly question but what do you change or set in the DTC ?
-
No files from an old install as far as I know, there could maybe be some old files lingering in the depths of my computer from previous Falcon BMS version possibly even some Free Falcon stuff, but nothing manually added to the game once installed.
I will try to set the UHF 15, not sure how though. I don’t ramp start and I don’t think I “load” in the pit, heck once I’ve set the DTC I usually can’t get into the pit.
I do very little messing around with the DTC, I just hit recon on the 2D map and set whatever targets I want for the WPT’s then save it with the DTC. I specifically set the targets as STPTs and I see there is also a WPN TGTs option also. Then I go to the DTC and usually check to see if my targets are at the SPTs I want then hit save.
I see there is also a “Clear” and “Clear All” option in the recon screen, I haven’t played around with that. I’ve also noticed with 4.33 that the DTC actually holds onto the inputted unlike any other version I have played, eg. I can set my as I said above then fly a mission and when I come back to 2D or even leave the campaign and come back the information is still in the DTC. I used to have to annoyingly reset the DTC every time I left the campaign or entered 3D then came back to 2D. I have some suspicion that the DTC is holding onto old targets then I am setting different targets as the same SPTs as old targets. I will do some more troubleshooting and try using the “Clear All” option in the recon screen. I also notice in this version that I can only set targets with SPTs 1-24 then 81-99, there is no option to use SPTs 25-80.
Thanks for the help.

Nope, nope, nope nope nope. Once I set the DTC I can fly one successful mission then there is nothing I can do to change it, clear it, erase it. Nothing. I even try to fly with it empty and crash, can’t get into 3D world in any other of the Korean campaigns, dogfight, instant action, nothing. I clear it then save and reload, doesn’t help. Clear it, save it and exit game then come back and try to fly and crash. Also tried the UHF 15 set to default and it doesn’t help.
I found the 4.33 UI download. I am going to get rid of everything I have now and try that.

Now I can’t install because it wants a licensed copy of falcon 4 installed on my computer……
Edit: I purchased Falcon 4 through steam because I lost the CD I had around 15 years ago. I did a full install through steam and Falcon 4 is now taking up a decent amount of space in my already crammed full hard drive. Is there a way to get Falcon BMS working without the full install of Falcon 4?

No, not version 4.33.1. That was the required agreement with the IP Owners.
See:
I have not done the Falcon4 install via Steam, but I thought I’ve read that it works as intended for the purpose of installing v4.33 update 1 (4.33.1). Perhaps a search will find relevant threads.

Thanks for everyone trying to help. After doing a brief couple of tests with 4.33 UI it seems like I no longer am having the problem, but I only tried two quick missions, but that’s twice as many as I was able to fly before. The pilot from instant action couldn’t have said it better “That was a real goat rope.”
The whole reason I ended up getting back into this was that I was raving to my buddy who is a pilot about how great this game is, I put the 4.33 (not UI) and the falcon.exe on a USB drive and gave it to him yesterday, he hasn’t tried it yet. He isn’t a guy to sit around on the computer so I don’t know if he will go for buying and installing a copy of Falcon 4, now that I have what I need through steam is there anything I can do to simply get him what he needs on that USB drive or does he have to also purchase everything? If not what would be the best way for him to get a copy of Falcon 4 without steam?

Not sure about the Steam version but, with the original, you have 3 install options; compact, full & everything. The compact install is sufficient.
Also, you may want to review this: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/content.php?132

For BMS 4.33.1 and going forward (as far as anyone knows), you MUST have Falcon4 installed. Besides Steam, you can get a copy from GoG (https://www.gog.com/game/falcon_collection) for a few bucks. Falcon4 is included as an ‘extra’ or ‘bonus’ if I recall correctly.
This is the version I used and it was fairly simple to install, then install BMS.
Other alternatives include buying an original edition of Falcon4 from Ebay or some such internet ‘store’.
