Cant get higher display setting other then 1280 X 720…I need help please guys

OK Guys
Here’s my problem. I have Falcon 4.0 plus BMS 4.33u1 installed and I have a very good machine to run it. I have DCS and ROF and IL2 BOS installed and all of them work fine with no issues.
My problem is I want to get higher display resolution and I can’t seem to get it. I have an i7 processor with GTX670 and 16 gigs of DDR5. I should have plenty of juice to run this at higher settings for display. Can someone please point me in the right direction. My goal is to get what I have set for my desktop resolution which is 1980 X 1020.I hope some of you guys can help me figure this out. I have been all over this forum but for the life of me I cant figure it out….I have nvidea control panel set with some of the guys suggestions from here and the graphics look very nice but if I could get the display resolutions to be higher then this would be the icing on the cake again for me.
Thanks in advance for anyone’s help…Salute!

Have gone into the falcon setup and under graphics selected your video card and then the screen size you want. You can read about this in the BMS Manual section 4.3.4.

I did inBMS it’s showing and all I can get is 1280x720. Every other game I get 1920x1080. I can’t figure it out. I know I must be able to get higher settings.
I went into falcon and I don’t see my card showing, I get 3D direct ,but highest setting is 800x600 How can I get the Falcon game to recognize my video card?
Also where is the falcon CFG file?

you know it is a dropdown list never had this problem. in 4.32 I think we had to put hires command into shortcut. have you tried selecting bms as a profile in nvidea control panel.

Is it a laptop or Desktop PC ?
“I went into falcon and I don’t see my card showing”
And when did you last install Nvida drivers ?

Does your I7 CPU chip have onboard video and you have not selected your GTX card as the main video card in the BIOS/UEFI?

Hey Guys
Sub- I haven’t tried the Hi-res command in the icon, can you help me with that. Im not quite sure on how to do it.
Shadow- Is it a Desktop PC, and I have a program called driver booster that automatically update my graphics driver to the latest version…
Lumper- I have selected my GTX video card as the main video card. Its wired I know right… I told ya this is crazy.
I did however just download and install the Falcon patch v. 1.08 and it was able to increase my resolution in the main Falcon to match my BMS version now at least, but I know that I should be able to get 1980 X 1020 in this game…I haven’t tried the Hi-res command line for the I hoping someone can help me figure this out…
I really appreciate your assistance guys I know together we’ll figure this out!

The 108us patch is purely for the original falcon and irrelevant in BMS. I don’t think the -hires even works with BMS. Certainly should not be needed.
Try deleting the display config??? I forget what it’s called. Inside user config. And after restarting see if 1920 res appears in drop down menu.

Have you tried to change something in the config of bms to have it also recognise resolutions that don’t support 60Hz.
g_bAllowAllRefreshRates
When set to 1 this option disables the 60 Hz limit of BMS, allowing BMS to display resolutions with lower refresh rates
(when using HDMI on larger monitors for instance). Default value is 0; Range 0/1. -
Cobolt the file you referred to is this “dx9display.dsp” I did delete it and it made a new one but still no luck…I think is driver related though…
PROBLEM SOLVED
As for Focaldesign’s post I did put that line in the BMS config cause it wasn’t in there to begin with and BAMMMMMM it WORKED……YESSSSSSS If you were here I’d have a wierd moment and give you a giant HUG…Thanks man your a genius. So if anyone else ever has this problem please make this a sticky…
