Fantastic event. My first air show ever at the tender age of nearly 50… we’ll certainly attend again in 2018. Thanks to Viper-47th for organizing the camp ground (“Kleine Wielen”, highly recommended)!

I believe the next one is next year in 2017 and 2018 will be a year without show again and then 19 and 20 will have shows again.

I totally agree, compared to the sleek outlines of the Viper, the F-35 is just…, sorry, butt-ugly, there’s no comparison. Sure it’s all stealth and that, but I guess as soon as you start hanging stuff off of the wings all the stealth goes out of the window.

I’m not meaning to start a debate here (topic is “Dutch Air Force Days”, after all ;-)), but hunting for a nice F-16 T-shirt on the Bazaar on-site all I was able to find was shirts with the F-35 on them which is the “future” according to the guys I talked to from the Luchtmaacht.

The Belgian Demo team was there, they sold all kinds of F-16 merchandise and I’m pretty sure I saw Viper stuff at the market located on the field, but then I wasn’t looking for it so could be wrong. Had fun for two days for sure!

Normally you’re right, but I think it has something to with the city of Leeuwarden being “the cultural city of the year 2018”. I also heard it was planned for Leeuwarden in 2018 again.

Hope they reschedule to june or july when the weather is lot better. This muck ruins the airshow the Italians for instance showed which was amazing
