      I have an ASUS PA328Q 32" monitor (2 actually), but don’t see that BMS 4.33 supports 3840 x 2160.

Hmmm what makes you say so?
Is your “good” vga selected? And active?

BMS supports whatever res your computer does.
I’m running BMS on a 4k monitor, no issues.

Must be a setting somewhere then. I have my ASUS GTX660 TI selected as the primary video card, but the resolution drop down menu doesn’t offer 3840 x 2160.

Possibly you need to change something in the config of bms to have it also recognise resolutions that don’t support 60Hz.

              g_bAllowAllRefreshRates

When set to 1 this option disables the 60 Hz limit of BMS, allowing BMS to display resolutions with lower refresh rates
(when using HDMI on larger monitors for instance). Default value is 0; Range 0/1.

Depends on how you are connecting to the monitor and Driver version.

You most likely need to connect via Display Port.

                      DVI Dual Link: 2560 × 1600 @ 60hz, WQUXGA (3,840 × 2,400) @ 33 Hz with GTF blanking (2 × 159 MHz)

                      HDMI Version 1.4 3840×2160 (Ultra HD) at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz

                      DisplayPort version 1.3, 4K UHD display (3840×2160) at 120 Hz, a 5K display (5120×2880) at 60 Hz,

                      As mentioned by Focaldesign.

                        BTW,
                        I checked GTX660 resolution limits.

3 - 3840x2160 at 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24Hz supported over HDMI. 4096x2160 (including 3840x2160) at 60Hz supported over Displayport. Support for 4k tiled MST displays requires 326.19 driver or later.

if you are using 30Hz, you must allow all refresh rates as Focaldesign said.
in addition, some 4K monitors default to DP1.1 which is only 30hz. you’ll need to enable 1.2 support to get 60hz (I had to turn it on in the settings menu of the screen)

I don’t have a 4k display but I helped my friend set up his for Falcon BMS. We had to edit a file with hexadecimal to set the resolution correctly for his display.

                          See here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?7429-Custom-screen-resolution&highlight=dx9display

Use the attached dx9display file for your 3840x2160 display.

This pic shows the important changes to the file.

                            why so overkill?
all you need to do is select the resolution from the drop down…

Most likely because 3840x2160 didn’t show up in his dropdown menu, hmmmm?;)

It shows up in the dropdown menu of other flight sims without any problems.

Great! We didn’t know that when we set it up. It was probably 2 years ago.

Sorry, I forgot to get back to say thank you. This worked like a charm.

                                    Thanks a bunch.

I’ve tried BMS at 4K downsampled on a 1080p screen. It looks great but the FPS drop and the small menu text made it unusable. 1440p is a nice compromise.
