Abject surrender !!!

To each and every one of you good guys of BMS who have offered me so much help and advice regarding installation of Falcon 4.0.
I have followed just about every suggestion you have offered, and I continually get failure in one form or another. ie:- In trying to extract all from BMS Zip File [which my PC definitely shows as downloaded into C:\ PF\ My Doc`s\ etc etc]. I get “File is corrupt”, or “No file from which to extract”, or suchlike.
I now feel that either I
m repeatedly making a stupid mistake somewhere, or it
s all a bit beyond me anyway. Whatever….Im sorry to say that I
ve had more than enough hassle with this now and I am finally giving up.Sorry guys, but it simply remains for me to thank you all again for your genuine encouragement and support.
A really great forum this !!!

I very much respect your decision, but could offer as a last chance try one real time voicecommunicated assistans over teamspeak or Skype to try to solve what has to be a repeated minor mistake somewhere in the process. I find your situation to be upsetting when thinking about what awesomeness you are close to getting.
If you change your mind, PM me and we set up a method to communicate and a time for the session.
Cheers!

You guys are making it hard for me to
turn my back
on this, so…okay I`ll give it yet another go.Actually I think I have finally realised where the problem lies. All along I have been downloading Falcon 4.0 from within Gog
s Falcon Gold, and when selecting it in Falcon Golds
extrasIt has immediately started downloading [367 MB] without allowing any choices of location etc. When finished it tells me
Installation complete. A search then shows it as listed under C:\GOG Games\Falcon Gold. which does indeed show a box labelled falcon 4.0. I have been taking this as an indication that Falcon 4.0 IS ACTUALLY installed. I have only just discovered that actually selecting that box gets me aFile empty
message. This says to me the file has not actually been installing and that [putting it mildly ] Ive been
a bit of a donkey` throughout all this. Well, I suppose I could use my age as an excuse here but I would still feel like the ancient idiot that I have probably been all along. It seems all I need to know now, is how to get the downloaded file to actually install.

Is the box’s properties 367MB?? If so, then just double click it for installation. Install it directly to your C drive, it should create a Microprose folder. I have the disc, so I’m not familiar with the stuff from GOG. But it’s worth a try.

Okay you should see an icon with setup falcon 4 2.0.0.1 double click that to install falcon 4 choose C drive. it should then start the install program. once done let us know if you think it installed okay.

The boxes properties are
0
to everything. Completely empty file. which leads me to ask "How the heck was the box created if no download was taking place ???I
ll try the download again but I feel that I
m going to end up a raving lunatic`here. -
HAHA, do a search for falcon4 on your C drive. If it’s there, it should find it!!! Worth a shot in the dark.

I have just downloaded from GOG the setup exe shows up in my downloads folder is this the same on win 7, I am on win 10, can’t remember win 7 that well now. search 4 setup falcon exe. it must be there or you are not downloading it.

I once again draw your attention to this thread. It shows the step you need to download and install GoG Falcon 4 and then how to install BMS. It was done on a Win 7 machine - so yes the GoG download goes into the Download Folder unless you save it someplace else using Save As.
Right click the Falcon Setup.exe and select to run as administrator - this should help with installing Falcon 4. Once you have it installed BMS is a breeze as it will find where Falcon 4 is automagically when determining if you have it before letting you install BMS. If you don’t have Falcon 4 (or haven’t installed it properly) the message displayed on your screen when you try to install BMS will leave you in no doubt and will even point you to where to buy Falcon 4 (a bit academic in this case).
Don’t give up at this stage. There are plenty of folks who are willing to help or even talk you through installing BMS. Take advantage to them if you are having issues …
