X52 / x52 pro… what's the verdict?
-
Hi folks,
I’m pondering buying a backup stick for my Cougar and have been considering the x52 / x52 pro (it will be mainly used by my son who’s getting into BMS atm, of course I hope my cougar will never break ;-))
I’ve read very confusing reviews on amazon about the device so I thought “Why not ask the the most knowledgeable community there is… the BMS folks?”
Would you recommend this HOTAS for BMS or are there any others we should consider? TBH I’d probably get a warthog if my Cougar ever breaks for good, but in order to get my son airborne ASAP I’m considering a cheaper option.
All the best & TIA for your comments,
Uwe

I have my X-52 since 2009 and together we have scored 600 hours only in BMS (add at least other 200 for FAF, DCS and X-plane). It is worth the 120 € I paid for new.

Same opinion as above here.
Just have most care of connection cables and, please remember, never stretch them!
Or you’ll be obliged to relpace/rebuild them, as once I unfortunately had to because I stepped on the main by accident (that one linking the throttle and the computer, I mean). With best regards,

I paid a little extra for the X52 Pro and thought it was worth it (I owned an X52 before that).

Hi guys, thanks for your comments & feedback. I had a bit of extra cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I ordered a Warthog from Amazon yesterday which just got delivered…. can’t wait to get home and unwrap it
Cheers, Uwe
