When you run the TWP test, I end up getting the “FSRS Bad” message. Does this actually mean the test failed and if so what would I have missed?

See page 20 of the training manual.

“The final step in this sweep is to confirm that the INS is fully aligned by checking to see if ALIGN is flashing in the lower left corner of the HUD. If so, toggle the INS knob from ALIGN NORM to NAV on the AVIONICS POWER panel. From that moment, all navigation cues will be displayed”

Ins alignment is, to my knowledge, totaly unrelated to rwr (twp and bit test being part of it).

FSRS status should not be related to the INS/EGI status but it seems to be in BMS.

The INS needs to be aligned in order for all TWP tests to pass.

Well if this is the case then BMS is deviating from the real aircraft in that regard. INS status is not required for a good RTWS. At least for ALR-56/69.
