IVC and windows 10 64bit
-
Hi guys.
Yesterday, I was trying to host flight using tungle and IVC kept on crashing. I would get an error message that the client had crashed.
At the time, we skipped IVC and just used TeamSpeak.
Today, alone, I tried again and sure enough it keeps crashing.
So I check with the Windows firewall and made sure I allowed it to have private and public access.
I ran it again and it crashed.
I ran the client first with admin rights. It crashed. So I ran it again with administrator rights and compatibility mode for windows 7.
No crash as of yet- although when I hover over it, I get the windows 10 blue circle meaning I cant click on it - but it doesn’t “seem” to have crashed entirely, just that I cant click on the IVC client to see its status. Just the spinning circle.
Is it working I wonder?
I will give it go later with my buddy, but wondered any advice? We did try a while ago with windows 7 (b4 I upgraded to windows 10) and I could join but my buddy over tungle couldn’t. He was trying to connect using the tungle ip. (7.xx.xx.xx ip.)
Any thoughts?
(even though we are using a “LAN” (using tungle) I free’d the ports on the router just in case. but he still couldn’t connect to me)

My bad…
…tunngle. it’s the hamachi replacement since they stopped the free app.
Virtual Lan.
Ps. I should add I’m having this problem without tunngle. So im not sure what to do. I am assigning the 127.0.0.1 in the comms setup within falcon.

on firewall have you set inbound and outbound rule?
-
Ive had a very quick look at windows firewall for inbound rules and all seems to be enabled. Not sure what to look for specifically. Outbound rules I’m not sure what I’m doing here. Been looking in the manual - (did a search for “rules”) and couldn’t find anything.
I don’t remember touching this with windows 7 but maybe 10 is different?

I think I might have fixed it.
I took off administrator rights on the client. Because it asks each time if its ok to run it. Ran the server IVC and it came up with the firewall. I allowed it access for private and public.
Ran falcon and it seems to be working. I will test it with my buddy for use with tunngle - but at least the client isn’t crashing. I will check later and report.
thanks arty for your time anyway. Will see how I get on.

Even though I haven’t tested it - I have a feeling i’ve been an idiot here. Dancing around and looking too deep into it.
I have been too focused on the client and because of a reinstall - totally forgot about the server!(It amazes me that some people in my family think im rather clever - and then i do stupid things like this!!! lol.)
