Editing Training Scenarios

Hi All,

Just a quick one. Is it possible to edit the training missions so that the weapons missions start at the ramp? I presume that mission commander can do this but after some tinkering I’m not able to figure out how to do it.

For example on the general purpose mission rather than starting airbourne at steer 5, I’d like to be able to perform a full cold and dark startup followed by the bombing run.

Yep, find the file in the relevant save directory, rename the extension from .trn to .tac and you’ll be able to edit it as desired.

I don’t think he means that. He wants to alter the training script I believe.

Those are changed extension is new and script not so known.

He wants to wind the clock back - the quickest and easiest way is to rename .trn to .tac then when BMS starts, the file will show as a saved TE. He can edit it in-game and wind the clock back to let him start on the ramp.

Sure, it may screw up the script, etc. timing, but he will still be able to fly the entire mission only this time starting in a cold dark jet.

Hey flathead, the easier way is just go to the mission you want to start in a dark jet, go up to save (on opening screen), hit save and rename it to what you want and it is automatically saved to TE directory. Then call it up and modify it, no need to enter BMS programs. The only thing you might not be able to do is add targets to the mission.

Are you referring to doing this with a Campaign flight??? If so, it’s not saved in the TE directory it’s saved in the Save folder as a campaign file. Then you would go to the Save folder, rename the file with the extension .tac, then it will be saved in the TE directory.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you are saying.
