Non Joystick Keyboard File?
-
Hey, anyone have a good keyboard file for people who just have a mouse and keyboard?
-
Here you are: http://www.mediafire.com/download/331ix2uytu23i2w/BMS_-Full-_Nikos.key
Simply place this file into this folder: …\Falcon BMS 4.33_U1\User\Config
and then into the sim load it and hit to apply.
I have with “B” the airbrakes toggle.
Of course you can make changes over it.

Thanks! How do you pan the view around?
-
Internal view of “3” with NumLock arrows 2, 4, 6 and 8. Zoom in/out with mouse wheel.
Outer view of “0” with NumLock arrows 2, 4, 6 and 8 for rotation and NumLock 1 and 7 for zoom in and out (also with mouse wheel).

hmmm… that’s definitely not working… 3 and 0 work but the NumLock arrows to pan around do not. Any thoughts on how I could check this?

Well the only thing that I can imagine is to not hit to apply after you load the specific keys file, as I was told you in my previous post.
So take a look at my below photo:From the menu, go and click to SETUP -> CONTROLLERS.
Then you will see the above similar photo.- Check to be sure that you see exactly the same name “BMS - FULL - NIKOS” just right of "CURRENT KEYFILE (in photo see 1).
- Scroll down until to read the blue section “7. VIEWS”. Then check to see that the Num2-8 are for the exaclty same actions as in my photo (in photo see 2).
IF you don’t confirm the previous, then obviously you didn’t hit to apply after was loading the keyfile.
So,
3) Click to “LOAD” (in photo see 3) and then click on the specific file “BMS - FULL - NIKOS” and then click to “LOAD”.
4) Then click to “APPLY” (in photo see 4).
That’s it, now the keys are loaded but also are current for use.P.S. Of course meant that you already have copy and place the file “BMS - Full - Nikos.key” into this folder: …\Falcon BMS 4.33_U1\User\Config.

hmmm… I can confirm 1-4 yet I cannot pan around using Num2-8. What am I missing here?
-
Are you using a laptop?
Maybe the NumLock to be off?

I’m just using Apples full keyboard.

So we spot the issue.
Can you check with a Microsoft conformal one (means Microsoft, Logitech e.t.c.)? Just to be sure that this causes the issue.
As for an example, I use a Microsoft Wired Keyboard 200 USB one.

hmmm… ok. I only have mac keyboards around. wondering how I could troubleshoot this. are there any unused key commands I could swap out for those like shift + num 8 or something to test out another keyset?
-
Is there anyone else out there with an apple full keyboard that can test this out for me? I can’t seem to get this to work and can’t find a non mac keyboard around the house either.
-
Or is there another keyset file that has the pan around keys set differently so I can test that?
-
Is there a keyboard map for the Nikos?

Well yes, there is a pdf file.
When I will be home, I will upload it for you

Hi,
Wouldn’t the BMS-Minimum.key be the right one? Or does it also contain its own Hotas commands?
Rgds

Not sure. Never got this to work.

If you really intend to fly Falcon just with a keyboard you have one of the following choices:
- either use a stock one and learn how to handle it
- or build your own from scratch which fits your needs.
Maybe not the answer you wanted to hear but the only I can give, honestly.
Btw., I have flown with a guy back in the days (AF times) who just used the keyboard.
And he was really not bad. Even in formation flying. But still, I think a cheap joystick is better than a keyboard, IMO.
