Falcon BMS does not work anymore…
-
Hi,
the title is the message I receive when I try to launch the Falcon BMS 4.33.
Therefore I cannot even start the simulation.
my PC:Windows 7 Home 64 Bit.
i7 CPU 12 GB RAM
Graphik: AMD Radeon R9 200I have installed the simulator without antivirus and with the UAC at the minimum value. But when I launch the game I receive the message: “Falcon BMS does not work anymore”
Any ideas to helping me?
Thanks. -
problem solved.
After starting the launcher, before doing anything switch to 32 Bit. And then the game runs.
looks like in 64 bit the game does not run…(as yet)? -

Hmm, that’s weird I have Win7 Pro and it runs fine in 64bit. Must be something on your rig preventing it from running in 64bit. I’m positive others are running W7 Home and using 64bit.
Are you running it as Administrator??

Cloud 9: You are right. i read the manual where states that the game runs in 64 bit (but not by me). I include here the user/logs if somebody can help me to solve the issue. Running the game as administrator does not solve the 64 bit issue.

Those files are normal, nothing to worry about there. What your looking for is a crashlog.txt if the game generated one.
It’s formatted in date/time, here’s an example: 2016-06-30_233448_crash
Like I said above it’s a .txt file. Post it up if you have one.

Cloud 9: Sorry to tell you that the game did not generate any crashlog. Therefore I am lost in the cold darkness.

I’m going to ask a really basic question so don’t be offended … You PC is a 64 bit machine running a 64 bit operating system. If not then you can’t run 64 bit BMS.
-
Tiffy: My machine is an Alienware Area 51 64 bit machine running a 64 bit Windows Home 7 operating system.
Do not worry about offense. When I deal with people that know more than I do, it would be preposterous to be offended. So go ahead!
I am wondering why whith such a monster of machine the simulation does not work in 64 bit. Every other high demanding simulator as IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad, or Rise of flight, or Cliffs of Dover are performing perfectly.
Best Regards. -
What is minimum memory for BMS 64bit ? It’s written somewhere.
-
Cobaltuk: if you read my first post you will see that I have 12 Gb RAM,i.e. more than enough to run Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
-
Is it for 64 bit ? That was my question. If it is then fine.

I discovered something weird:
As I have doble booting in my PC Windows7/Windows 10, I installed Falcon BMS in Windows 10 and It works in 64 bit!
However, under the same PC the game does not start in 64 Bit in Windows7. (Although yes in 32 Bit).
Where the hell is the mistery? -
More to add to the confussion:
PC in Windows 10 64 Bit.
Joystick: Black Widow
Falcon BMS 64 Bit
Launch: program runs.PC in Windows 7 64 Bit
Joystick: Black Widow
Falcon BMS 64 Bit
Run as Administrator
Launch: Game does not start.PC in Windows 7 64 Bit
Joystick: Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro
Falcon BMS 64 Bit
Run as Administrator
Launch: Program runs.PC in Windows 7 64 Bit
Joystick: Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro
Falcon BMS 64 Bit
Run as normal human being
Launch: Game does not start. Conclusion 1: In windows 7 the program does not like the Joystick Black Widow, although the program recognizes it and allows changes. The big doubt is : Why there is no problem in windows 10?
Conclusion 2: In windows 7 hte program runs with Microsoft Sidewinder Precisiom Pro Joystick provided it is run as Administrator, however not as a normal human being. The question is : Why?
Conclusion 3: I would be very happy if I can run the program as a normal human being and with the Black Widow Joystick under Windows 7.If somebody has the answers, please feel free to enlighten me!

Probably it has to do with file access permission.
For years now my accounts on Windows are admin, just for such stupid things that the OS acting for your safety makes your everyday experience a nightmare.
About the stick it could be a driver issue. Does the problematic stick have force sense? In previous bms version there was an issue, maybe this stick is an exception to the fix done with the U1.
So for starters have an admin account to save u the trouble.Sent from TapaTalk

Arty: Thank you very much. Your answer is short, direct to the point and clarifying.
Yes, the joystick Black Widow has force sense, it vibrates in accordance to the action. The vibration cannot be cancelled. I will have to wait for the next Black Widow Driver or the next Falcon BMS U2.Best regards.

Well look at my hotlist in 4.33 specific post to find the link for the Force sense fix.
In short in the driver folder you must spot and rename the dll file that manages the Force sense.
If you are not sure just rename one at a time and try until you find it.That way you loose force sense but the stick remains functional. Also bms will work ok.
All this in case this is the actual issue.Sent from TapaTalk

Arty: Sorry to inform you that I am lost in the jungle.
You mention a “driver folder” where to change a dll. Can you tell me where I can find this "driver folder!?
Thanks -
ok…
As I searched the causing trouble dll must be this:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\slffdriver07.dllSo from windows explorer open that folder and scroll down and find this file: slffdriver07.dll
rename it to: slffdriver07.xxxdll
It will ask you if you are sure… select yes.
Reboot and test stick and Falcon BMS
If it’s the correct file then you should not have force feedback and BMS will run ok.
I’m not 100% sure this is the file so you must spot it.
for sure it is a .dll file. -
