BMS on Win 8.1 problems.

Hi Everyone,

Ive just purchased a new PC with win 8.1 and I cant get BMS to launch after many attempts and running win compatibility and launching as Administrator.

Ive installed correctly in the same way as I did on my Win XP rig which runs BMS perfectly.

Is this a known problem or is there a special knack for getting BMS running in Win 8.1.

Im away from the PC at the moment, its a Desktop, 12 gig ram, radeon *** 2 gig card ( seperate ) folder size about 900 gig. Intel 3.2

well bad install IIRC.
900MB should be your setup folder not your Falcon folder.

Nothing special about Windows 8.1 for a stock install. I have it running on two laptops and a desktop with the only issue being my Thrustmaster MFDs, which was fixed with a registry hack. One laptop even has Intel integrated video (4th gen Core i3.)

BMS Runs well on any pc, I just can’t understand why guys are having so much trouble with BMS. This forum is full of problems and BMS doesnt hurt to run it. I have wind7 and wind8, and let me tell you that on wind8 it runs Super and looks amazing. I want to help you so you can enjoy it, but please Re-download 4.32 back in, and before you do anything, just delete previous installs. Let us know your progress.

Lol, no problems here either. I run it on a MacBook booting from an external HDD. That’s my portable pit

Yes thanks for the tip, I reloaded setup with updates 1-7 and when I launch BMS the main screen is in the top left quarter of the 27"’ screen, but its manageable and when I launch fly it fully fits the screen and runs well.

Are you running in Windowed mode?

Edit \falcon bms 4.32\user\config\falcon bms.cfg and change set g_bCenterUI to 1

I changed that from 0 to 1 but it hasnt made any difference.

Have used TeamSpeak before? If so, just go over to Falcon-Online and we can help you there, I just hate typing…LOL… But seriously though, Its better if all get on there and walk you through, But I think that your install is not complete, just try to re-download it and try it again.

Finally after weeks of frustration with the setup screen in the top left hand quarter of the screen……and a few crash to desktops on landing I changed the AMD Radeon R7 240 drivers back to a previous version 13.25 and everything is working as it should…:D
