      Hi ! just wanted to throw in a Q here, when you do a rampstart at night the ckpit is very dark inside obvious 😛 should´t that be some kind of internal light or when in Batt, there is possible to get some backlight for the knobs/ instrument ?? Just feel it little hard to do all pre-settings / check´s before engine spools up. I have no ide how it works in RL, maybe it´s modelled the right way ??

        hi gusser just turn on nvg until electricity is up

        it’s obvioius that cockpit lighting is tied to the jet’s electrical systems (main generator?) so it needs the engine running, and nvg is on its own battery hence not affected

          Hi,

          First turn on Mains Power Switch left second last Panel.

          Then near thigh area, first Right Panel, first knob down left. Click! Sweet!

          I hope I have helped also somewhat:D

          Mr. Greeny lights!:p

          Night flyin with lights on! Is Cool!

                Yes, even F16 has battery.

                  Oh !! is that how it works in RL F16 ?

                  was just RTFM my -1 here….

                  seems Flood lights are tied to main gen, primary console/instrument lights are tied to EPU, and aircraft battery supplies the spotlights. (which makes sense)

                  so according to manual:

                  flood lights can only be on when engine’s running;

                  enigine off but EPU on would still enable the primary lights;

                  and spotlights can be on once pilot’s in pit

                  (?)

                  tried in BMS:

                  spotlights are not implemented (?)

                  kept engine off, turned on EPU, flood lights start to work… but not primary lights;

                  when engine’s on obviously both works

                  so i’m confused too

                  but i guess RL pilots have spotlights, maybe they use that…

                    Hi,

                    Internal Pit lights are DC current from source not AC! With relay back to Mains Power for saftey and quality of wiring! Only the best for avaition!

                    AC - Requires power! Hence external lights and flood lights for Taxi.

                    Wiring lume (Methodolgy) would be separate to functions for various reason. i.e. (Fuses, wire indexing, isolation, ease of repair) etc!

                    There should be an electrical wiring diagram to an F16 you can trace FYI- But info overload!

                    This info provided is from my experience anyway!

                    Check: http://www.xflight.de/pe_org_doc.htm#Documents

                    Good Luck,

                    Seeya up there soon!

                      On the RL USAF F-16
                      Depending on the pilot, most bring a flashlight. Some just use finger light (small LED attached with Velcro…well to their finger) I do not think NVG are tied to the engine power. There is setup for JHMCS, but I do not think it uses aircraft power ether.

                          Slightly OT, but how long can the F-16 run on BATT? Obviously you’d flick it to MAIN once the engines up and running to provide power. Does BMS simulate the onboard battery dying?

                            good to know mate

                            was just thinking if they used spot/util light it would take away juice from aircraft battery which isn’t good?…

                              Well the checklist documentation included with the game says not to run the BATT for more than 5 minutes…

                                I don’t think the utility light works with battery. Never seen it I should say.

                                  Manual says that it is powered from the Battery bus bar 1.

                                    Which manual? 24, the 33. For what block.

                                    Found it, yep it is power by Battery bus. Never seen a pilot use it tho. Normally they just bring a flashlight
