What about the visibility of anticollision / formation lights at night?
-
Hi,
had just standing (11 pm) on the balcony, looking in the clear sky, sawing stars and anti collision lights flashing of a far away a/c. But in the sim it is a little bit harder to see them in nearly the same conditions…, even the white flash light at the tail.
I’m using lights per pixel and 2560*1440…

I would guess it’s a limitation of the engine used.
You also cannot see someone’s afterburner exhaust at night beyond something like a mile, I think.
I suspect it falls under the “it is what it is” category. I’d also suspect if it were easy enough to change, that they’d do it.

I suppose the brightest the artificial light source can be is limited by screen max brightness and of just a couple of pixels but in RL there can be a considerable energy radiating from light source.
A more modern game engine as used by Train Simulator has much duller light signals than in RL. -
Is there a way to make the lights brighter in 4.34? I mean positionlights, afterburner, exploding bombs, sams and aaa …. In every book i read the autors said about an sa2 at night they are bright as hell. Really missing that in the sim
