So, is possible in TE’s to have SAMS randolmly appear? I mean you place a SAM unit and then the game randomizes If it appears or not during the mission. Is there any way to do that?

Not as far as I know. It’s generally impossible to add some “randomness” to TEs I believe unless you start working with air-mobile units, but even then you’d need to schedule their flights & tasks accordingly.

Enabling some randomness in TEs would be a great addition, but I guess it’s rather hard to implement in a decent and meaningful manner.

yes there is. Use MC. It has the time it will be available. Not random but will spice up things… Also you could have it move, if it’s movable.

There is one way but should be made by another the TE and camp. and DB changes in required. Even the SA-2/3/5 are static SAMs in DB you can define such movetype which requires to move and/or act the SAM. So as long as they are not launching they are invisble on UI map. In briefing you can find short note where is the nearest SAM but in this case this info won’t be exact. I applied this method in my Korea '80s MOD and worked well.
