      In the BMS 4.33.1 tutorial 8 (TFR/FLIR) you have to perform a ramp start procedure (on Kunsan airbase) and I was sent to Runway 18 by the ATC.
      (In the documentation I was told that I would be using runway 36 as the wind comes from north…)
      I printed out the airport diagram of Kunsan before starting this tutorial mission.
      But actually I could not figure out WHERE ON THE AIRPORT exactly my starting position was. The briefing said nothing about it and I could not find any other information.
      So how should I know which way to follow to get to EOR north?

        Hit your ² key, you’ll have satellite view. Move it around to assess your position and route.

          Or your ~ (tilde) key, depending on keyboard layout/basis.

              Something you can do IRL is to compare you location GPS coordinates to the airport chart. Unfortunately not possible with our present (still wonderful) documentation.

                Thanks for the quick responses!
                Satellite view was my very first thought. But I only can zoom out and not far enough to get an overview. I found no way to pan or rotate in satellite view.
                I’m using TRACK IR but I have set the mouse to control view. Works perfectly in orbit view but not at all in satellite view.
                I looked up keyboard layout but found nothing specific to control satellite view.

                I also tried starting the mission as the wingman. That didn’t work as I could assign myself to the wingman plane but the lead remained “unassigned”.
                Also I wanted to figure out how to resolve this issue generally for later missions and campaign myself.

                  Further I got confused by the signs.
                  When leaving the hangar looking “to the left to behind” was the sign F. According the diagram this should be the returning path. So I was looking for the sign C that logically should have been on the next corner. But there was no such sign.
                  Furthermore there was a really sign around the cargo north area. It looked like this: C (Inverted) -> D -> E -> F.
                  According the diagram D and E are correct (north to pathway C) but how the hell could the same direction lead to F if this pathway is to the south (of C)?

                    If you start the clock the lead seat will be occupied shortly and in any event it would be so occupied when you arrive in 3D.
                    Once jet started move it outside the shelter so you will be able to see other jet emerge.
                    Most bases are not so complex as Kunsan so the maps and sat view would normally suffice.

                        RD, the arrows suggest an anti-clockwise loop? If I spawn in, for example, H35, do I need to turn right on entering the loop, or is it only a case of “I should”?

                          Sat view was a good thought. You have to use your keyboard to rotate the view - that’s what I do even though I also use a TrackIR and mouse. To zoom out, the keyb is way more efficient than mouse rolling too, it takes you way farther.

                          To rotate in sat, I use Shift + Numpad 2-4-6-8, and I zoom with Shift + (edit) Numpad 1-7

                            Unfortunately (in SAT view)
                            Shift + Numpad does not do anything
                            Shift + 1-7 switches between various views

                            So it seems to be a Keyboard-layout problem.
                            I’m using Warthog_DX-4_33_2 by Morphine (https://sites.google.com/a/hodderweb.com/warthog/falcon-bms/home) updated by Boxin. Had no issues up to now.
                            Any ideas how I could solve this?

                              Yes, it is. And it was Shift + Numpad 1-7, I edited my post.

                              You can edit your key mapping in game, in the setup. That’s probably what I did if it doesn’t work the same for you.

                                Found the said key bindings! In my profile it’s:

                                Satellite View
                                U = Rotate Up
                                J = Rotate Down
                                , = Rotate Left
                                . = Rotate Right
                                Shift + F11 = Zoom In
                                Shift + F12 = Zoom Out

                                I’ll make that simpler and will use Shift + Numpad Numbers as in your profile. Fortunately all of these bindings are free at the moment.

                                As it took me some time to find the relevant callbacks I’ll post them in case somebody else looking for them:

                                OTWViewUp
                                OTWViewDown
                                OTWViewLeft
                                OTWViewRight
                                OTWViewZoomIn
                                OTWViewZoomOut

                                So, satellite’s view problem solved. Thanks!

                                I will also try using GPS coordinates as alternative to satellite view to figure out, where I am!

                                  That chart may be out of date or reflecting real procedure instead of BMS 4.33u1 as it stands today. I’ve always remembered that H43 was the #1 spawn spot and the loop flowed clockwise. In a slightly older version you’d taxi outbound on F but that was changed recently to outbound on C. The test is that if you spawn in in H43 and your wingman in H42, when you start to roll your wingman will either keep back or block you from going to the right.

                                    Reflecting real procedure. The AI goes clockwise through the panton flows.

                                      At Kunsan we’ve occasionally spawned on the taxiway north of H16 …. near the intersection of taxiway C and north from there.

                                        you don’t have to. It reflects real life direction, and most of our squad SOP. That said, we also turn left out of the HAS. But we do taxi out on Charlie rather than Papa.

                                        that remark is also stated on the regular approach chart btw.

                                        real life direction is much more logical than what the AI uses. The chart was made after the spanw points at kunsan were made, but these may change.
                                        We mostly use it in MP without AI
